True Enchanter / Fortune's Mistress
True Enchanter
A nice, sensible maiden aunt with a schoolmarm air... Being press ganged into chaperoning her seventeen-year-old niece wasn't Joanna's idea of a holiday, and she was even more outraged to discover Richard Marlow's mistaken ideas about her.
Since he'd chosen Becky to star in his new film, Joanna didn't really have much choice, and past experience of actors made her determined not to be misled by the superficial emotions they could generate.
Fortune's Mistress
To the outside world, Maggie and Finn's marriage seemed very modern, thoroughly open. Maggie the free wheeling socialite, dispensing her favours indiscriminately and Finn indulging his playboy tendencies. But then Finn fell genuinely in love with Laurie Fortune, daughter of financier and jeweller Nicholas Fortune and the house of cards Maggie's scheming had wrought fell about her ears. Nick thought Laurie wanted to be friends with Maggie, and was set on wresting her away from this 'scarlet woman' and Maggie was horrified to realise that her headlong response to Nick was returned in full measure!
