Read the 7th edition. Definitely needs updating. I was a bit surprised to see that it was published in 2018 but clearly illustrates how more research is needed. The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act would help by creating a federal data collection on law enforcement practices as well as establishing a National Police Misconduct Registry.
