Oliver Willoughby was done waiting to "Mr. Right" to come along and sweep him off his feet. After multiple failed relationships he finally decided that he would take charge of his own life. He wanted one thing. A family of his own. Who says he needed to be in a relationship to start a family? Plenty of people start families in different ways, IVF being one of them.
Theodore Xavier Lexington had it all. He's was from a rich family who loved him. He graduated top of his class and was engaged to his long time boyfriend. He had it all, that is until he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. When news spread of his illness investors left his company and his fiance broke the engagement. Before his life saving surgery he made sure to save his DNA so that he can have children in the future.
What happens when there's a mix up at the sperm bank and Theodore's sample (that was meant to be stored) was accidentally donated, used for insemination and resulted in a pregnancy?
This book is a horrendous mess of spelling and grammar errors, incorrect word usage and random changes in verb tense. It’s in desperate need of even one pair of eyes to do a rough proofread, not to mention an actual editor. I should have known from the first two pages what a headache this book would be to finish, but I ignored my instincts and pressed on, then found myself too deep to “give up” before the end. Spare yourself the migraine and wait for an edited edition to be released- if the author can summon the self respect to hire a proofreader at minimum, and ideally an editor with plenty of patience and fortitude.
The overall concept and story of the book is fine- as more couples were introduced and the storyline diverged from the main couple, the book just kept dragging on. I can’t help thinking it would have been better as three separate books running in a concurrent timeline. (Yes, for Kay Marie’s intrepid future editor that is a huge hint, though it may be a big ask to coax more content to justify 2 additional books)
Props to Kay Marie for having the gumption and guts to write a story and put it out there, but please take the time to actually proofread before publishing.
I reluctantly give this a 3 star even though I have given lower for the types of mistakes in the book because there were a few times the story made me laugh. That said, there were way too many mistakes and this story could have been told in a few paragraphs rather than hundreds of pages because there was so much repetition. I applaud the author for attempting to tell basically four different love stories for a total of 8 perspectives, but.. Everyone cried so much and yelled for no apparent reason other than to use an emote of some kind. I don't think there was a single page of the book that someone wasn't crying.
(Also, the couple being sent an NDA is not a thing.. an NDA is an agreed on contract that can't just arrive in the mail that you have to abide.)
I would’ve enjoyed the book more if not for all the misspellings, wrong/incorrect grammar, misuse of punctuation and other issues. It was a bit wordy in some chapters but overall storylines was great. All those things took me out of the flow of the story and me trying to make corrections (I eventually gave up) irritated me to no end. Whomever did the proofreading (if any) should be flogged with wet grass and a competent editor should be hired. I liked the various stories of the main and side characters so we had a base for their stories. Would read another by this author if these issues were addressed and resolved.
I really enjoyed the story or stories I should say. I read the blurb and thought this could be fun. While I enjoyed the storyline the amount of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors detracts from the book. Normally I can overlook a few errors in a book. However this book has many. I thought perhaps the author was from a non English speaking country and it just didn't translate well but according to the author bio KM is a New Yorker. So I enjoyed the storyline. I loved the characters but the amount of errors was very distracting.
I love this genre of books, however this one was very difficult to read. I loved all the characters and how they all fit together. The painful part of the book was the need to reread a sentence or a word that wasn’t right. There is an enormous amount of mistyped words, misspelled words and words that don’t even fit the sentence. This book needs a lot of reproofing and editing to make it a better read. The overall story is very good and interesting but with the errors it was almost like rewriting it as you read.
Storyline was good and had a good base, the grammar issues and the jumping around in the story I what made me lower it. This story actually has 4 or 5 couples all exploring new relationships and all tightly woven friendships together but sometimes it was confusing and would have been better with 2 books with 2 couples each book. Also this author could have expanded a little on the lives of these couples and their friendship/family life a little more
No editing. Way too long. The POV switching gave me whiplash.
Besides the main couple there were three more side storylines. The 3 best friends stories should’ve been separated books and all be one series.. But no. Dump everything in. The grammatical and punctuation errors show no editing when into this book. The unnecessary backstories had backstory. No plot outline/structure.
It has potential with a lot of editing and re-writing. This version should have stayed on Wattpad.
This was a cute book to read if you just want something fun. As long as you don’t mind all of the typos and repetition, then it’s ok. This book was told from everyone’s POV and it got a bit confusing. Again, since it was being told by all of the different characters they tended to repeat, in detail and nearly verbatim, the same history or feelings. There was a lot of skimming. Like I said, if you just want something cute it’s a good read.
This book started 2 MC's but then the author added 2 more couples. Normally this would bother me but it flows really well. However, the editing leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly just typos but still makes it hard to read seamlessly. I would recommend the book but suggest to the author to go back and re-edit.
This book has the potential to be rated higher with editing. The plot was good, but the complete lack of editing made it extremely hard to read. The typos (many looking like autocorrect errors that weren't changed) , tense shifts, and disregard for capitalization distracted from the actual story. There were roughly 10-30 typos per page, which is shocking.
I gave this story a a five star rating because it was very different story from the other mpreg stories that I've read. However, I feel that this book has too many characters in it that are striving for attention. The book really needs to be rewritten into smaller segments/books.
I love that other couples were included but didn’t overtake the original characters. There were quite a bit of typos that sometimes had me re-reading paragraphs. Overall it was really good though.
I so wanted this to be good. I couldn’t continue with it because just about every page had a typo or the wrong word or something going on that wasn’t right. It’s too difficult to enjoy a read when you are constantly banging up against errors.
The general idea of the book was interesting but the book itself was not for me. At times it was hard to understand what they author was trying to say because of spelling errors, typos, grammar, and continuity.
The story is great, but there are so many typographical errors that detract from the book. Edit. Edit. Edit. Not having to figure out what words are supposed to be written would add to the story and make it better.
Book had lots of wrong or misspelled words. But was a good read regardless. It was weird how numerous characters got together in one book but like I said it was a good read
