What sacrifices are you willing to make for love? What pieces of yourself are you willing to give up? what pieces of yourself are you willing to hold onto?
Stacey Hill travels through love's journey, colliding with lust, commitment and morality, with very few things beyond her grasp. When her sheltered reality with an on and off again love becomes intermingled with a new love, the energy is bound to be explosive.
Collide is a drama-induced black romance novel, a breath-taking treat, guaranteed to leave you swooning and cluthing your pearls with excitement as Stacey explores two extraordinary loves.
An entertaining piece of work from this first time writer. She gave character development, suspense and black love. What more can one ask for? While, It seemed like Stacy was breaking hearts and taking names. We quickly see that her “Achilles heel” is Savior James. And, this is where me as the reader was thrown a monkey wrench ! Reading the toxicity that is Savior and Stacy’s situation-ship had me scratching my head. By all means this was an sexually free unapologetic woman that kept allowing this man to play in her face. Regardless of her best friend warnings.Stacy just couldn’t cut those soul ties…..Then… enters Anthony Deleon, A Grown Man by all accounts. And this is where I swooned. Truthfully,by all accounts I just knew Stacy was going to self-sabotage her new relationship. But, Anthony put in the work and claimed Stay. Flaws and all. This could of been a move.. a R-Rated one but, the story didn’t disappoint. It was equal amounts of erotica and substance. Good Job!
How many times should the female lead be threatened with sexual assault after suffering from it at an early age? While the story had promise, the multiple "almost rape" scenarios were too triggering for me. I wondered if both Stacey and Anthony were truly healed from their past traumas before embarking on their whirlwind romance. I wished them the best. While this story ends with a "to be continued" I don't think I will be reading the second part of this series. The pace and character development felt rushed and choppy. While this is the author's debut novel I wish her much success on her author's journey. 3.5 stars.
I don’t know if I gave this book a fair shot bc one of my fav authors dropped the finale to a series I’ve been waiting on.
I will say the main character is witty! She just had this modern, down to earth banter that I love. I just found myself uninterested most of the book, and I skimmed a lot.
Stacey was off putting to me. In addition to her attraction to trash men, there is a fine line between confident and spoiled/princess/bratty behavior and I just didn't feel like she walked it well. Also, it was never really explained any Anthony was initially attracted to her other than the fact that she wasn't clocking for him... But he met her jogging, and she stood him up on a date and suddenly he was just obsessed with her. It didn't make any sense.
Everyone needs a Rachel in their lives.

I honestly hated Stacey as the fmc… her logic and they was she acted in the hurst half of the book drove me absolutely crazy. The flow of the story telling was also all over the place. Sometimes predictable, sometimes it flowed well and then others were choppy or unnecessary. I read all the way to the end in case my opinion would change. But I mean it wasn’t a terrible book
While I’m not typically a fan of bad boy type stories, this one was a page turner. I just didn’t like that Anthony was intertwined with things that were unfavorable. I would have loved for him to be legit and still love her. but again, this is why I’m not a fan of these types of reads.
There were several grammatical errors but the author did capture my attention. Great writing nonetheless!
The story got boring around 70% and I almost DNF’d it. There was no need to continue to mention that he could have had any woman. I think that’s understood as he had: sex appeal, money and power. Also, I felt the MMC used sex way to much to persuade the FMC. It was quite annoying. There was a lot of sex in this book and not a lot of connection, love, dating. Just whooo’n with money and sex. Nothing fancy!
Great writing for a first book, but not in love with it. Not for me, but again - definitely a page turner.

This was a solid, well written story. I enjoyed it, it kept my attention and had just enough tension to keep me turning the pages. Collide follows Stacey Hill as she navigates love, lust and morality while trying to figure out what (and who) truly fits into her life.
What I appreciated most was how realistic the situations felt. The relationships, the choices and even the internal conflicts they all made sense. It’s not overly dramatic but it’s definitely layered with emotion and introspection.
Mahogony Jones did a great job setting up a story that feels like real life sometimes messy, sometimes tender but always honest. It’s the kind of book that quietly draws you in rather than overwhelms you and I respect that.
Let me start by saying this cover is everything!!! The actual story was captivating from the very first page. At times Stacey annoyed the hell out of me with her piss poor decision making but she showed some positive development throughout the story and she grew on me. I wish her past trauma was introduced with a little more detail and not just thrown out there and basically glossed over. I will say it did explain why Stacey seemed to equate sex and lust to love. Everything with her seemed to be cured with sex. Anthony was bae, that is it, that is all.
First of all, the book cover gave all the 🔥 🔥 🔥. The story gave all the energy and 🔥🔥🔥that the cover gave. I was mad at Stacey for awhile in the book. But she grew up and I understood her better. This is a NTM author. I will definitely be reading more of her future work. This is a it’s read. Tip: read when you have plenty of time because you won’t want to put it down.
So I’ve come across the authors page on Instagram multiple times, which is what ultimately led me to reading this book. I love the authors marriage, her family and the content she posts. Based on the books description I didn’t think I would find this to be a good read. However, against my first thoughts I decided to read the book and it it was great, I must say I was not disappointed! Now I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for “Collide: Book 2”!!
I really liked the story line it just didn’t give what I thought it was going to give. Anthony and Stacey have a strong and intense sexual chemistry, but their inta-love connection outside the bedroom didn’t resonate with me.
With how this book ended on a cliffhanger I do want to move on to book 2 to see how the story ends.
Ok Mrs. Jones I see you ! ! ! I enjoy reading and exploring new authors and I want to say I am not disappointed ! ! ! You gave exactly what was needed and got me wanting more ! ! ! I have a feeling Stacey getting ready to show out and I’m here for it ! ! !
First, let me say this cover is hot. This is what made me read this book. I'm really glad I did. I just wish I knew it was ending on a cliffhanger 😔 I can't wait til book 2. I'm all in.
All I can say is ANTHONYYYYYYYYYYY…New Book Bae Alert 🚨!!! Whew I can’t wait to see what happens next! Ms. Jones, you are an amazing author! I will be adding you to my Favorite Authors list! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
Such a good read. I didn't realise I spent 3-4 hours up in the middle of the night reading. An amazing page turner couldn't get enough. I hope a man loves me that deep like Mr.DeLetion loves his woman.
I lived this book. It grabbed my attention from the first chapter. I didn’t want to put it down. The female main character dealt with her trauma and was ready to enjoy life.
Mahogany Jones is a phenomenal writer. Her characters were so real and relatable that I was hooked from the first page. I felt like a fly on the wall throughout the entire book and I’m now already on the hunt for book 2.
There must be a pt2 brewing, there is no way you can leave us hanging like this. Please please please when is part 2? Hence the reason I read standalones
