Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.

Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.

Khloe and Ben charmed me from the moment this book opened. I loved that even though there’s some angst between them over whether or not they’re feeling what they’re feeling, they’re both pretty quick to own up to the situation and their desire to make “fake” into “real”. Their families contain some first-class jerks, but they’ve also got some absolute cheerleaders in their teams, willing to call them out for bad behavior and poor decisions while also lifting them up when needed. The ending was too adorable for words and I kind of hate that the book is over already. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
“Fake it for Wealth” is the 7th book in the ‘A Faux Love Novel’ series by Weston Parker. Each book is a completely standalone story. It’s a fake relationship story that leads to true love.
Two years ago, Benedict finally couldn’t take it anymore. His mother wouldn’t stop nagging him to move back to Britain and marry a British socialite of her choosing. He figures out a way to stop her in her tracks; he tells his mother he married an American, at a Vegas wedding Chapel. All this time has gone by and he’s managed to keep his mythical wife and his family apart. But now he has to go home for a big birthday celebration for his beloved grandmother, and he needs to bring the wife. Why fess up to the lie when you can hire a professional escort to pretend to be her?
Khloe is from an affluent family, but her father completely disowned her when she decided to follow her own dream and chose to go to school to become a librarian instead of going to business school the way he wanted her to. Since she was 18, he’s completely ignored her existence, and cut her off financially in every way. Her big extended family follows his lead. Khloe has paid her own way through college, living in a crummy apartment with a roommate, and surviving on a diet rich in ramen noodles. She ends up applying for a job with the company that sets up paid dates, and literally stumbles into Benedict in the hallway. She ends up getting the gig as his a fake wife, and the story takes off from there.
I thought this book was entertaining, and there was real chemistry between the characters. The dialogue is smart, and there is plenty of emotion in a variety of ways. There are a lot of secondary characters. Some provide the voice of reason when necessary, some offer good comic relief, and some you want to strangle. Benedict and Khloe are so likeable that you really want them to get their happily ever after. I must say that his sisters and her father get off way more easily than any of them deserve .. Or maybe I’m just vengeful! It’s such an entertaining story, though, so read it and see what you think.
entertaining story line and great characters. To escape an arranged marriage to a British socialist Ben tells his mother he eloped in Vegas. Oh and did I mention that she was horrified and that the families were horrible. Two years pass and he has to produce his bride for a 'proper wedding" in England. That's when Khloe comes into the picture as his 'fake' bride. Well you know what happens with fake, sometimes it becomes real. A clean romance that's full of angst, drama and nasty relatives. Another great read from Weston Parker. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Benedict and Khloe. The author once again brings an entertaining story and fills it with tons of emotions. What starts out as a fake marriage may turn into a newfound love? The story moves fluidly with perfectly painted scenes and is a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
What do you do when your mother insists on trying to marry you off to an acceptable British socialite? You lie and say you married someone in Vegas, of course! For two years, Ben managed to avoid having to produce said wife. But the time has come for him to travel back across the pond for his Nan’s birthday celebration, and his mother has planned a wedding ceremony for him and his imaginary bride. Rather then come clean, he decides to hire a fake wife. As everyone knows, that ALWAYS works out well! 😉
Khloe is an American from an affluent family, but her father disowned her when she chose to go to school to become a librarian instead of going to business school. For 7 years, he has completely pretended she doesn’t exist. He even demanded her entire large extended family follow suit, leaving her with no family. Cut off from all the family wealth, she lives as a broke college student struggling to pay her way through university. Her roommate introduces her to the idea of being a Faux date, and she accepts the job of being Ben’s fake wife. As one would expect in a fake relationship story, things don’t stay fake for long.
The good: These two are great together. They start awkward, mostly because Khloe was awkward 😏 But seeing them learn about each other and how they fit together was great. Seeing someone who was so certain he’d never fall in love, fall so hard is always fun. He’s a swoony kind of guy, and everyone loves that. After the big wedding blow up, I loved that he chased her and the plane scene was perfection.
The bad: Maybe I’m just a petty grudge holder, but I would was annoyed at the sudden acceptance/forgiveness of her father and Ben’s sisters. His sisters were vile, cruel even. No one stopped them. Their mother just watched sat there and said nothing. Ben threw out a half hearted “stop it you guys” a few times, and finally snapped after the damage was done after their final act. I was livid. I kept waiting for him to have her back, and he didn’t. He saw how they were acting, heard the rumors they were spreading, let his mom railroad over all their plans, and did nothing. Not until it was too late. Then it turned into something akin to what I’d expect from a “sweet clean romance” when the following day Ben and Khloe return and she makes some impassioned speech about how they hurt Ben, and the sisters stand there with their heads hung like they’ve suddenly seen the light. Then Khloe “offers an olive branch” and says she wants to build a relationship with them, and the sisters talk about visiting them in New York?? It should have been the sisters reaching out to make amends and grovel, not Khloe. That was too much of a reach for me, and the sisters’ sudden personality switch was unbelievable. No one that vile has a sudden personality change and learns to feel remorse or guilt. In that same vein, her father has been a POS and excommunicated her from the family. But then Ben shows up the day before the wedding to ask him to come, and he has the nerve to show up and ask to walk her down the aisle. I would have said “no, go have a seat.” He did not deserve that honor, especially without having making amends first. After seven years he suddenly has a change of heart and realizes he was an a$$ and his late wife would be mad? But not any of the many times she’s reached out and begged previously? He had the nerve to say he didn’t know she had been destitute? You CUT HER OFF. What did you think would happen? I was annoyed because she had the spine to walk away from her fortune to follow her dreams of being a librarian, but then was spineless and weak when she basically said “awww shucks, it’s ok you guys were so awful to me!” Ugh.
Overall, I really liked this book. There seems to be a trend in this series of just forgiving horrible behavior as if it hadn’t happened, which I hate. But the rest was great, so I’m still calling it a win overall.
What a delightful, hilarious journey! Book 7 in the Faux Love Novel Book Series is every bit as good as the first six, even though all of them can be read as stand-alones. This time we meet Benedict Danton, a Brit from a wealthy, connected family, living in New York in order to escape the heavy-handed insistence from his parents for him to settle down into marriage with a woman who meets their approval.
We also meet Khloe Deise, a once blue blood from New York society, who has been disowned by her tyrant father because she refused to follow him into his world of finance because she instead wanted to become a librarian. Now she is destitute, living on ramen noodles, going to school and working part-time in a local library until she can finish her degree and get a full-time job.
Two years ago, Benedict drunkenly told his family that he had married someone in Las Vegas, but now, along with his Nan’s birthday party, they want to celebrate his union with another wedding - in London. Thus enters the inimitable Della Fontenot, owner of Faux’s Agency and match maker extraordinaire, to save the day. Maybe.
Thus Benedict and Khloe enter into a contract that takes readers on a delightful, hilarious journey as they try to persuade his family that they are not only married, for for two years, in a loving relationship.
I absolutely adore the characters - the two protagonists, her absent father, his self-centered parents and evil sisters, and Nan, the only one who genuinely “sees” the couple - and the twisted plot Weston Parker has created. His attention to detail, as always, results in a tightly-woven, beautifully constructed canvas that lures readers into the sub-consciences of the couple as they make their way through the wedding event while also resisting their way into each other’s hearts. Personally, my favorites parts of the story are those that reconnect us with libraries and books, especially the way they can whisk us away to worlds beyond our imagination.
I highly recommend this book, especially the resolution of the couple’s steamy HEA. Once again, Weston Parker offers readers a beautiful romance. Kudos!
Benedict is an English aristocrat living away from his family in America. He has to take over the family business and marry someone his family approves of. He's having none of that, so he tells a little white lie - he's already married to an American. Getting married in Vegas is the kicker to almost make his mother fall over. His grandmother's birthday is in a few weeks, so his mother wants him to bring his wife with him. Big problem - he has no wife.
That's where the Faux Agency comes into the picture. He's rich, so he can find the perfect woman to show off to his family. He literally bumps into Khloe on the way out and knows she's the one.
Khloe has a sad story. Her mother died when she was a teenager. She loves books and reading and one day she wants to become a librarian. Her father is furious about this and disowns her. HOw could a father do this? In order to keep going to school, she needs money. Enter the job with the Faux Agency.
This story has a it of a twist to it that I really enjoyed. Khloe is one of those people who fall in love quickly. Instead of having her heart broken, she breaks off the fake marriage with Benedict. She can't deny their attraction, and he won't take no for an answer. It brings them back together again. The real problem is his family in England. Whoo - those sisters of his!!
You will fall in love with both characters. I really made them for each other. Fake love and marriage always work out in the end for these two!
Benedict has become accustomed to the American ways no doubt a horror to his snobbish London socialite family. Tired of the matchmaking from his mother he lies and says he got married in Vegas...two years ago. Now it's time to go home for his Nan's birthday celebration and oh by the way have a proper wedding.
Enter Khloe, a university student struggling to make ends meet. Once from a wealthy family until her father disowned her for going after her dream to be a librarian instead of going into the family business. A Faux date could really help her out but a fake wife gig could save her... and she gets a trip to London to boot.
Easy peasy until the sisters from hell take it upon themselves to prove the marriage is ashamed and Khloe is a gold digger. I think Nan is the saving grace for Khloe and it's definitely something she needs.
Is it too late when the chips fall for Ben to realize that he'd gladly give up his bachelor status it be could have Khloe by his side?? Will Khloe give Ben a second chance and have the wedding of her dreams??
Real to life characters that are great together. His/her POV, no cheating, no cliffhanger and of course another Faux HEA!! Even the bad characters bring realization to the story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Great job Weston... I highly recommend this book!!
Two years ago Benedict told his English Aristocratic Family he had married an American in Las Vegas so they would leave him alone about it. He's been really busy working in NY at the family business that he hasn't had time to go home. Now it his Grandmothers Birthday and there's a Gala and he's expected to be there with his nonexistent wife. His best friend tells him all about Faux so he makes an appointment. Chloe comes from a wealthy American family but when she insists on taking college classes in Library Science and working in a library instead of the family business, her father and most of the family disown her. She is now going into her senior year, her savings is gone she is barely making it living on Ramen and her roommate tells her about Faux. She thinks about it and makes an appointment Bennedict and Chloe literally run into each other in the outer office at Faux, and instant chemistry. This is the beginning of the story, you will be laughing, be fighting tears and every other emotion. This book is so good. I think it has to be one of Weston's best ones yet but then every book he writes I think that. They just keep getting better and better. I ❤️ loved reading this book It's an easy read, standalone HEA
This was my second try at reading Weston Parker and it will be my last. I hate wasting money so I forced myself to finish it but it was a real challenge.
I don't like to give reviews without saying something positive but I really can't find anything good to say. For me, the book never recovered from the implausible idea that a father would disown his daughter for trading a career in finance for a career in library science. The way the family makes it sound, she's working weekends at a peeler bar. Ridiculous plot point. Even more ridiculous that her estranged father would be more offended by a career in library science than he was after finding out she was essentially a high class escort.
The book doesn't get better from there. I just couldn't buy into this couple. Both were vapid, shallow, and had zero chemistry. The character of Khloe was so unlikable that I found myself rooting for Ben's mean sisters to take her down a notch.
The worst part about the book though was the dialogue..especially during love scenes..so stilted and unbelievable that I was crying with laughter...just so bad.
The best part about this book was the end. A waste of money and time unfortunately.
What better way to stop your mother from insisting you must marry than to tell her you already have a wife, well that's what Benedict thought, but seriously how long was it going to be before he had to produce the Mrs? Then factor in that his mother wants him to have a second service so that everyone who missed the event can be there. What do you do? Well, what Benedict did was hire someone to be his pretend wife! He just keeps digging his hole deeper!
To find a suitable candidate for his wife he goes to an agency that introduces him to Khloe only his problems are about to magnify because he feels a real connection to her and all he can think about is that he wants it all with Khloe, the whole happily ever after. Is there any way he can convince Khloe to make their fake marriage the real deal and that they could be happy together?
Another enjoyable romance with two likeable characters who seem to be perfect for each other, but can fake become real?
This is the 7th book in the A Faux Love Novel series. Each book basically starts with a fake relationship that turns into the real thing. is a completely standalone story. It starts with Benedict and Khole. Benedict’s mother has literally hounded him to move back to Britain and marry a British socialite -and she wants to choose his wife for him - of course! He tells her he already married an American- in a quick Vegas wedding to shut her up. BUT - now he has to go home for a big birthday party and everyone will want to meet his mythical wife. He decides to hire someone. That person is Khloe. She’s from an affluent family, but her father completely disowned her when she decided to follow her own dream and chose to go to school to become a librarian instead of going to business school the way he wanted her to. Since she was 18, he’s completely ignored her existence, and cut her off financially. This is how their HEA starts - a great story.
Benedict needs a fake wife since two years ago he told his mother that he got married in Vegas. With his grandmother’s birthday coming up he’s expected to be in London with his wife that his family has never meet. His roommate tells him about Faux dating service as he’s leaving, he bumps into Khloe and tells Dela that this is the woman he wants. They spend six weeks getting to know each other and going over the story they are telling his family. But Khloe starts to have feelings for Benedict and quits the job, but he convinces her to go along with the job. Once they get to London that’s where his sisters start trying to run Khloe away being mean bullies to her. But Benedict confesses his true feeling to Khloe and the decide to make their relationship real. Every book in the Faux series just keeps getting better and better. Another great read from Weston!
5 stars I received a free copy of the New York set steamy novel Fake it For Wealth (A Faux Love Novel, book #7): Benedict and Khloe by Weston Parker, and this review was given freely. All I can say is, never lie to your mother or grandmother. Other than that, I became invested in the characters, captivated by the complex story, and at times exasperated by the lack of communication as well as the snobby self-entitled family members. This is the instant attraction rocky romance of disowned socialite and struggling library-science student Chloe Deise and British-born New York playboy Benedict Danton, who enlists new Faux employee Chloe to pose as his fake wife at his grandmother’s London birthday party but does not tell her about the fake British society wedding to follow.
Another great book by the author..A fake romance that's feel so real. This is touching, enjoyable, steamy with lot's of family drama. This is Ben and Khloe's story that you will love..Ben is an aristocrat leaving in NYC who needs a a fake wife to get his family out of his back and Khloe is a young woman who disowned by her father because she doesn't want what her father wanted her to be,now living alone with her BFF and having financial issue her BFF told her about the agency who hired an professional escort and earned an easy money, having a second thought but still she go for it and met her client the gorgeous british Ben.They have an instant attraction and chemistry that is going a big part to their agreement..great addition to the series, well done!
This is book three in the Mancini men series and this is Marco’s story. So far Marco seems to have a soft heart but that doesn’t take away from his strong points by any means. He meets Angeline when he goes to eat at the pizza place, she works at. She is just a woman trying to make ends meet and keep her family going. Yes, she is attracted to him at first just like he is her but she is guarded. They seem to begin a somewhat friendly relationship but will the danger that follows them keep them from a happily ever after? Lily has added another great book to this series. Just the right amount of everything. I am anxious to see what this author has in store for us next. I received an arc copy of this book and I am freely leaving my honest review.
Can being British aristocracy fall in love with a beautiful librarian nerd? Outstanding. Superb. Romantic. Emotional and a fantastic happily ever after ending. When Ben and Khloe literally ran into each other, their lives changed forever. What a beautifully romantic and heart tugging romance that will have your heart doubling in size and your heartbeat fluttering with happiness. What a great, great book. These two were meant for each other, no matter what Ben’s evil sisters thought of and said to Khloé. I guess no amount of money can make up for being vindictive and hateful. It is definitely not a good look for Ava or Olivia. Thank goodness Khloe is strong and is so in love with Ben that she can forgive anything. Magnificent.
Benedict has dug himself into a deep hole. To get his mother off his back, he told her he was married, two years ago. Now his lie has come back to bite him. He’s required to bring his wife to his grandmother’s birthday party. Where will he get a willing woman to lie to his entire family?
Because she wouldn’t go into the family business and followed her dreams of becoming a librarian, Khloe’s father disowned her. And most of her family has followed suit. When her roommate tells her about Faux, she thinks her money troubles could be over. Now to ignore her emotions.
Benedict pretends he got married to get his mother off his back because he hadn’t been. He’s done this for two years but now he has to go to his grandmothers birthday party in London with his wife! He has to find a fake wife and when he’s at Faux’s he sees Khloe. He asks her to be his fake wife for the party and he’ll pay her a fortune and then it’s over, She needs the money since her father and family has disowned her because she didn’t want to go into the family business. They go to London and meet his family but things get interesting from there. Will this wedding be temporary? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Benedict was tired of his family being on his case about finding a woman. Specifically his mom. When he lies to her two years ago and says he’s married. Karma comes back to bite him when he’s demanded to bring his wife to his grandmother’s birthday dinner. He has to decide if he’s going to lie or find a willing woman. He chooses to head to Faux for a fake wife and runs into Khloe. Khloe has been disowned by her father and her entire family for the career path she chose. Now with money troubles her best friend sends her to Faux. Khloe is suspicious of Benedict but the chemistry between them is on fire. They can only fake it for worth until the feels that they both were trying to avoid come out to play. I’ve absolutely loved this series and this book was no exception. Weston has done a great job bringing all of these characters to life.
This is book 7 in this series, and can be read as a standalone or series. Weston does it once again with delivering a great read. Once I started reading Benedict and Khloe's story, I could not put it down. What can go wrong when you tell your family that you got married when you really did not, especially when you have been "married" for 2 years? I loved Khloe, her personality and how strong she was as a person, especially after her father disowned her when she wanted to follow her own path. I highly recommend this book and series, you can't go wrong!!
I received a free ARC copy from the author and freely give my review
Benedict hasn't been very honest with his family who thinks that he is married. Now his deception has come full circle and he needs a wife. When he meets Khloe there is a connection one that seems to real for Benedict. Has fate dealt him the ultimate blow by way of a fake wife that has his heart thinking happily ever after? Wil he and Khloe's fake marriage become the real deal and lead them to happiness? This story drew me in and had me on Benedict and Khloe's side cheering them on! I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
This is a new book in the delightful Faux series and it does not disappoint. Wes weaves a wonderful and exciting plot. Khloe is in serious education debt and Ben has dug himself into a deep hole, telling his family he married two years ago, just to get his matchmaking Mother in London off his back. He learns about Faux, and it seems it might fix his problems if he can hire someone to be his wife .. for the last 2 years. In steps Khloe! You’ll love this book. Twists and turns and will be a page-Turner to the last page.
I received this book as a arc member . I give my thoughts of my own free will . Ben a very rich guy lied to his parents two years now his family wants to meet his wife and he has to meet a women that can pull off this lie or admit the truth . His best friend tells him about faux and he goes and meets a women literally bumps into her and instant connection . This book was way better then 5 stars . Loved it . Ben has to prove several times that he can truly love her and fix his stupid self and his snob family .
My little bookworm heart may have melted into a puddle!
What an absolute perfect story for the quintessential nerd to find herself reading. I felt like I was in Khloe’s shoes from the first word of her story. (Except I’m not a librarian)
And Ben… what can we say about Ben? His complete and utter obtuseness tied to him FINALLY being able to see what was right in front of his face made this story come alive for me. Even his sticky British family was perfect here.
All in, you HAVE to read this story. But now… I need to have Chandler’s story…..
This is a brilliant addition to this series. Ben needs a fake wife after he lied to his mother about getting married in Vegas. Khloe wasn't sure what she was getting into with The Faux agency but is pleasantly surprised with Ben and is instantly attracted to him. Their attraction is mutual but will his family accept her. So much emotion and plenty of drama with some steamy hot scenes but can they get their HEA. A must read with a brilliant ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Benedict is from a well-known wealthy family in London. Khloe is a college student to become a librarian and also has a job in a small library. Benedict needs a pretend wife and Khloe needs money for college. They both stumble on Fauxs, an escort service (and only an escort service). It’s a rocky road for both of them through these trying times. These two are up and down through their journey of total attraction to each other. Lots of romance, steam, angst and indecisions until reality hits them on their feeling for each other. A recommended read.
Felt unnatural. Forced connection, no sparks. Ben couldn’t even admit his feelings even to Himself. It’s dual POV but we dont actually get into his mind. Not to mention he just lets his family bulldoze him into a sham wedding. Bully Khloe and all he says is “you better stop”. Yeah OK. And then in the end everyone is all happy dory. Forgive and forget? No. What the family (BOTH) did was not forgivable. Not to mention they didn’t even try. Or at least we didn’t get any backstory. Seriously disappointed with this book.
I love the twists that Weston incorporates into his HEA's. Benedict and Khloe meet through Faux's. He needs a fake wife and she needs money as she's estranged from her wealthy family and in school eating Ramen with roommate Emily. Ben's roommate Chandler tells him about Faux's and the adventure starts there. Love the way he treats Khloe even before it turns into more. Thanks Weston, you never disappoint!
Benedict has found himself in a hole of his own making. He told his family he was married and now he’s either got to come clean at his grandmother’s birthday celebration or find a fake wife. He literally runs into Khloe at Faux’s and the rest is history. Throw in a cold as ice father, an overbearing mother, plotting sisters and things get interesting. Plenty of drama and serious chemistry as these two fight their way through.
