Just…not good.

This series started out so positive, but petered out pretty quickly. Aside from the spelling and weird grammar (who “pulls a door to”?), I can’t get past the characters’ constant horrible decisions. I get that the main character is an impulsive 15 year-old boy, but it’s not just him. All of the characters make just really annoying bad decisions which fuels the story. I made it to book five and can’t finish this series. Long, sprawling descriptions that go on and on and on and all the issues above have just killed this series for me.

I also skipped ahead to the ending and jeez, what a letdown. Glad I decided to cut bait and run. I think I would have been furious if I’d gone ten books and had that as my resolution.

An emotional ride

I'm only on book 1. I read the prequel years ago, and really liked it. I reread it so I wouldn't be lost reading the rest of the series. I'm glad I did. Now, in book 1, I get to enjoy the story instead of wondering. I just finished the part where the son loses his father. It was so emotional that I cried. I know the story is made up, but I wanted to thank you for writing this book. Because of authors like you, people like me with no imagination can go along for the ride. We get to experience the whole thing. Thank you and please don't stop writing. I think you found your calling.

I mostly likes it but glaring errors made it a pain

It wasn’t just typos; sometimes a completely different name would be used and then it wokdl switch back to the correct one. Cliches were used too frequently (within maybe 4-5 pages, the zombies were referred to as tenacious, as one example). Also, a femur is in a leg, not arm and it’s pus, not puss.
I’m not understanding how there were two completely different stories in this box set. Half of it was one group of characters and story line and then bam, it just switched to a different one.

Two Winners in One!

2 books, 2 stories and 2 ways it all starts. Great characters in both books. You cheer for the good guys and hope the author does away with the bad ones as gruesomly as possible! Derek Shupert is a stay up all night and finish it read and well worth the lost sleep. If you like the undead and knowing where it all began this is the set for you! As always though when getting to the end of the authors work you don't want to see it end.

Just can't get into the zombie thing. Body parts gone and they can still fight and outrun you? Started to skip pages.

books

I absolutely love the first book series. I had trouble with the second book series set in the 10 book set. Focus on getting and getting into it.

repetitive

It was the same thing over and over. The young hero gets people to help him. They die, he finds someone else to help him, they die etc.
