Some of the info in this book was interesting. I did not know that Prince Philip basically had no family during his growing up years (his mother was in an asylum and his father deserted the family for a mistress; his four older sisters all married and lived in Germany) and he didn't even have good places to go during school holidays. Some pages dealt with the breakup of the empire and formation of the Commonwealth (earlier material but inserted in the middle of the story of the Queen's life).
However, this book had great gaps in the time sequence. Princes William and Harry were shown as toddlers and then again as married men - virtually no mention of the Duchess of Cambridge. The book backtracked in places. And it came to an abrupt ending - the only place that the Queen's death is mentioned is in the dates of her life on the cover and a couple of other places.
The titles of the Royal Family are not properly punctuated. It often refers to "the prince of Wales" or "the duke of Marlborough," etc.
Overall - this is probably a book of essays, repackaged to make people think it's about the Queen's passing last September. But it's not.
Editing was really bad, not just a few missed or incorrect words but whole series of paragraphs repeated. Not worthy of the late queen. It seemed to be just a repeat of episodes of The Crown. There was information restated over and over across 3 pages or more, like articles reprinted and packaged as a book.
I enjoyed the photos and most of the text. However, there were an incredible number of typographical errors including the repeat of several paragraphs!! Nothing is shared about the death of the queen. This seems to be a book thrown together to take advantage of her death.
