The Foothills Writers have no end to the subjects (or predicates, get it?) they want to write about. (Yes, a sentence ending with a preposition.) Primarily idle retirees, the writers are already looking forward to volume IV of Our Foothills . The prose and poetry of Volume III includes more color photographs this year (2022). The authors hope you find this edition, at the very least, amusing, eclectic, and informative. The individual contributions are deliberately brief, to encourage your random sampling and enjoyment.
Stefanie Hutcheson has been a writer for most of her life. Using all facets of life, she can and will pen a story, poem, or rhyme to commemorate those events.
I must first admit: I am one of the writers in this collection. My review, however, is on my friends' pieces. The third official endeavor of the Foothills Writers did not disappoint. What set this anthology apart was the usage of color photos. They really do add to the stories told and shared. In today's fast-paced, instant-gratification world, one must capture the reader's attention quickly. If the wonderful stories in her don't do that, then please take a moment or three to examine the original photographs used. If you enjoy tales of the North Carolina foothills and the people who encompass it, this might just be a collection to add to your shelf. If not, there are four more by this grop to choose from!
