The Defenseless Plan

Rate this book
I, Timothy Hampton, had one simple and straightforward plan for my future.

1. Become the most sought-after quarterback in football history.

And with my best friend, Connor Tomlinson, playing football by my side, I knew my plan would be bulletproof.

But that was before his mom’s twisted tragedy forced them to move out of his childhood home for safety.

He disappeared without a trace, leaving me with immense guilt as I lived out our dreams without him.

I achieved our ultimate goal—getting drafted into the NFL.

And I wasn’t the only person he left behind.

Vida Wakefield, his obsession and the person he vowed to protect for the rest of his life, barged into mine, demanding I take his place.

Then things got really complicated for me.

While I was mending Vida’s heart, my own was consumed with an undeniable craving for her best friend that I’d been fighting to tame and failing at.

Apple Chang.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, she’s also the younger sister of a very overprotective former teammate of mine.

If only she hadn’t shown up at the hotel where I was staying in Miami for my away game, I wouldn’t have taken things way too far with her.

Apple, my forbidden fruit and the object of all my darkest desires.

It scares me to know I’ll give up everything to just have one little bite of her.

Including football.

This is my first book by Phoebe. I enjoyed the plot but I felt disconnected from the characters. I also couldn’t feel their true connection.

I’m not saying that this isn’t a book to be read and obviously I’ve picked it up without reading any of the previous books so their may be bits to the story I don’t know. But I just didn’t feel their chemistry. Other than during their sex scenes… I wouldn’t have put the two of them together. In fact I felt like Andrew had more of a connection with Apple.

The fact that Apple could easily allow the conflict between Andrew and Tim was… different. Almost like leading them both on. And don’t get me started on Ken. The protection is EXTREME.

It’s a good book with but for me it just had too much conflict. I don’t know if that’s the right word either.

Oh my goodness this book took me on a beautiful ride. I loved the way they were made for each other. You could just feel the love and protectiveness Tim felt for Apple. I always love a good best friends little sister to lovers story. Thank you Bookish girls and the author for sending me this.
