This book is the first book in the new Bee's Bakery Cozy Mystery series by Rosie A. Point.

Ruby and her best friend, Bee, have been working together for years running a food truck as well as investing murders on the side. However, they recently decided to move to Mystery, Maine with Ruby's fiance, Jamie, and open the bakery. Retiring from their sleuthing ways was also part of the plan but when they stumbled across a body in the bakery they just fell into old patterns trying to make sense of what had happened. Earlier that same day they met the murder victim, Cody, who worked nextdoor in the jewelry store. Having her engagement ring resized, Ruby never expected that the next time she saw Cody would be at such a gruesome scene! Because of this, Ruby and Bee find themselves in a less than ideal situation and need to try to clear their own names before they are arrested for the crime!

This was a great start to a new series and I'm really looking forward to reading the next installment soon!

New Beginnings. Ruby and Bee decide to settle down in Mystery, Maine after traveling through small towns, serving their treats and solving murders. Since Ruby and Jamie are engaged, he decides to join them and purchases a house. Ruby and Bee open a new bakery next to the jewelry store. Unfortunately, this new excitement is short-lived when they receive a call from the alarm company about the bakery. Arriving at the bakery, they find the body of a jewelry store employee. Ruby and Bee are believed to be suspects by the investigating detective. There are so many suspects to investigate. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep guessing about the murderer.

What a great beginning to a new series. The plot and characters were well-written, making you feel like you are friends. This was a perfect cozy mystery with just the perfect amount of humor, mystery, intrigue, and adventure that will keep any reader completely engaged. I highly recommend the series.

Back in the Thick of Things . . .

Ruby and Bee have given up their traveling food truck and moved to a brick and mortar bakery in their new town of Mystery, Maine. Ruby frantically phoned Bee to tell her that once again, for the 5th time, her engagement ring is missing. It keeps falling off, even though it fit perfectly when she initially got it. An odd stranger walked in, making Ruby a little uncomfortable as he talked about gluttony being a deadly sin and shuffled slowly toward her. Then he said another sin was theft, and held out her ring on his palm. How did he know it was hers? Then he explained he heard her talking and saw the ring on the sidewalk out front. When her assistant pastry chef came out asking for help with a quirky machine, Ruby said she was with a customer – but he was gone. Bee arrived and told Ruby they were getting the ring resized after all the times she lost it in this one week!

The jeweler, Marcus Baron, was not happy that his worker sized the ring incorrectly, but his son Noah called him at that moment and he told Cody to make things right while he took the call in the back room. They left the ring with Cody who said it would be ready in two weeks.

When Ruby and Bee get a call from the alarm company about a break-in at their bakery, they find the body of a jewelry store employee. Cody had been stabbed in the back with one of Bee’s knives, and he clasped her engagement ring tightly in his hand. Jamie been a detective in a small town and was having trouble keeping the ladies from diving into their own investigation. He insisted they call 911 and step outside. With the town’s detective already not seeming to like them, Ruby and Bee become suspects. It looks like they won’t be giving up their need to sleuth since they now have to clear their names and find the real killer. Would they find him before they or someone else became a target? And will this have ruined Jamie’s chances of being hired by the local police department where he had applied?

It’s wonderful to jump into another series by this author. She gives us plenty of twists and turns to find the murderer. And the ladies need to move on their investigation quickly before their business suffers from small-town gossip. Grab your copy and enjoy! We’re off to a perfect start!

Ruby and Bee have traded in their nomadic baking lifestyle for a brick and mortar shop in Mystery Maine. How apt. One morning Ruby finds herself missing her engagement ring the fifth or so time over the past week. This leads to a most unusual stranger walking into the bakery having discovered her ring on the sidewalk out front. After delivering her ring the stranger disappears one of many odd occurrences that have happened since the trio moved to the seaside town. Ruby is having some self doubt or self discovery issues since the settling in town including a strong sense of foreboding. Proven right when they find the jeweler from next door in their bakery dead, murdered to be precise. I guess settling down hasn’t stopped their sleuthing careers after all. The detective in charge sees Ruby or Bee as easy fits in the role of murderer so it’s back to the business of detecting because a new home town is not going to stop these two from getting to the truth especially when they’re the prime suspects.
Twisty, turny, fun and funny mystery. I love the spunk that Bee has and how Ruby is eager yet conflicted a true carer. She wants to be herself yet take care of the family she’s made. I enjoyed the adventures they had in their traveling bakery and I really enjoyed this first book in their new hometown. The dynamic between Ruby and Bee is as strong as ever and carries the story wonderfully. Great fun and I’m looking forward to further adventures!.

This is the first book in a new cozy mystery series.

Bee and Ruby have made the move to Mystery, Maine where they have traded in the food truck for a brick and mortar storefront called Bee's Bakery. They already have an employee named Leslie who is assistant chef to Bee while Ruby managed the front of the house. Ruby has also gotten engaged to Jaimie Hanson and they bought a fixer upper with a cottage for Bee. Jamie is job hunting and has applied to the local police department.

The bakery has only been open a short time but is doing very well. After getting home late one evening the ladies receive a call from the alarm company stating the interior motion alarm has been triggered. They and Jaimie rush down to the bakery and discover Cody Marks, an employee from the jewelry store next door, dead on the floor stabbed by one of Bee's knives. Ruby had just met him that morning when she dropped off her engagement ring to be resized.

Turns out the victim is husband to Ruby's wedding planner Moira and Cody was clutching Ruby's ring in his hand when he was found. Bee and Ruby end up investigating the murder when it looks like they are the main suspects. While investigating the ladies foil a jewelry store heist, Jaimie and Ruby have a relationship crisis, the ladies discover how the murderer only triggered the internal alarm and solve the crime.

A wonderful first book in a new series spin-off of sorts with Ruby and Bee having sold their cupcake food truck and deciding to settle down and open a brick and mortar bake shop in Mystery, Maine. They decided that giving up their previous sleuthing experiences and solving murders was best for both of them. Especially since Ruby's fiance decided to buy a house there and help them out. As they say..."All good intentions..." and Ruby and Bee are main suspects in the murder of the jewelry store owner next door to their new bake shop. With so many twists and turns and res-herrings, you just have to keep turning pages until the end once you begin. You just can't stop reading! What fun and promising this new series is and I can't wait for more. The main characters, Ruby and Bee are very close even though there is an age difference and Ruby is quiet and calming and Bee is the irascible one, it makes it for some very fun reads. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This is the first book in the Bee's Bakery Cozy Mystery series. Ruby Holmes is living in Mystery, Maine with her best friend, Bee Pine, and her fiance, Jaime. While working at the bakery she and Bee opened a few months ago, she discovers she has lost her engagement ring. Luckily a Good Samaritan finds it right outside her bakery. Since this is not the first time she has lost her ring, Bee suggests she get it resized since it keeps falling off her finger. She does, but unfortunately, before she can get it back, the jeweler who was working on it is found dead in her bakery. Naturally, the detective on the case thinks that she and Bee killed him. So now they have to find out who did, before they wind up behind bars themselves.

This is another fantastic read by Rosie A. Point. I loved the friendship between Ruby and Bee and the story kept me guessing until the very end. I can't wait to read more!.

1st in a new series Bee's bakery cozy mystery

Ruby and her best friend Bee from ... have settled in Mystery Maine and opened up Bee's Bakery. When Ruby's engagement ring slips off and is missing it is returned by a mystery stranger. The pair head next door to the jewelers to get it resized and head home for the day. That evening an alarm in the store goes off and on arrival they find the jeweler murdered...clutching Ruby's ring. Bee and Ruby must solve the crime to clear their names and set things straight.

This series although new often mentions past adventures and crimes solve by our baking duo. I had not read the previous books but was able to easily follow along without any confusion.
I will probably be adding the original series to my tbr just to fill in the gaps in relationships etc for future editions.

The first in the Bee's Bakery Cozy Series but a continuation for fans of Point's Bite Sized Bakery series, it feels like it comes full circle.

After a full series of Ruby and Bee's nomadic lifestyle of going from place to place with their Food Truck, they have finally settled down back in Maine, where it all started. Their choice is Mystery, Maine where it lives up to its name as another murder mystery follows them to their new home.

With her wedding just months away, Ruby has her plate full so when the dead body of one of her work neighbors showed up in their locked bakery. Will their stay here be just as short-lived as their previous life or will they find their spot in their new community.

Death and Donuts by Rosie A. Point is a cute beginning to a new mystery series Bee's Bakery Cozy Series. Ruby and her friend Bee are amateur sleuths who now run a bakery in Maine after the series Point's Bite Sized Bakery, where Ruby and Bee lived a nomadic lifestyle of going from place to place with their food truck. This short story held my interest with its delightful characters and twists and turns to the story. The only drawback was how the author kept switching from calling Jamie Ruby’s fiancé in one paragraph and her husband in the next even though they were not married. She did that through the whole book. She had even had Ruby telling the police that he was her husband. It was confusing. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout.

It was so much fun to visit with Bee and Ruby again! It seems like forever and now they had their own bakery. And of course, no adventure was complete without a mysterious murder to investigate. But the big problem was Jamie was hoping to get a job on the police force there in Mystery, Maine, and Ruby knew how much he didn't like it when they got themselves into danger.

There were quite a few good suspects, so I was never sure exactly whodunit. There was one exciting scene where Bee and Ruby had to show some thugs who was boss. I love it when Bee's inner cop comes out!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the author via BookSprout, and my opinions are my own.

Very cute read! I like these short stories. This is about Bee asks Ruby…and Jamie. The two ladies that used to drive around the country solving murders are now settled down in a town called Mystery in a brick and mortar bakery.

Of course there was a murder in that newly opened bakery though, because it wouldn’t be a Ruby and Bee story without their amateur sleuthing and being accused of murder.

And unfortunately Jamie decides he doesn’t like Ruby putting herself in danger and breaks off their engagement. Will she be able to win him back or will they be doomed? Sigh. Find out in this book!

Next is the second book and it’s called Death by Cookie Dough - release date is only around the corner on November 25th!

I love this book, I'm from Maine so any book base in Maine is a must read for me.
Ruby and Dee are new to the town of Mystery, Maine. They opened a bakery to sell their juicy donuts and other pastries. Ruby is getting married to a handsome man, but why is her wedding band on the owner of the Jewelry Store dead body. Why was his body placed in front of the bakery?
Will they be able to solve this before everyone in the town turns against them and Ruby wedding. The police suspect them in the murder, as well as some of the town people.

New town, new murder!

Ruby and Bee have relocated to the small town of Mystery, Maine. They may have left their food truck behind but corpses keep cropping up where ever they go. When a man is murdered in Bee’s Bakery the local police detective views Ruby and Bee as the likely suspects. If they want to clear their names and get back to baking they will need to solve this case.

This is an excellent series starter! I really enjoyed the Bite-sized Bakery series so I’m glad Rosie A. Point is keeping Ruby and Bee together for a new round of sleuthing. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

This was a great first book for a cozy mystery series. I enjoyed the characters, especially Bee and her no-nonsense attitude. The introduction of their feline friend was of course a highlight, I look forward to Cookie the cat showing up in the next books! I enjoyed the fact that Ruby and Bee already had a history of solving crime, Bee having been a policewoman and Ruby an investigative journalist. This adds a little more of a 'realistic' spin on why they would be so ready to jumping into a murder investigation.
I enjoyed the writing style and the plot, I will certainly continue with this series.

You can take the murder out of the food truck... so now we know it was not the food truck that was the murder magnet. It was Ruby and Bee! Now that they have their brick and mortar Bakery along comes another murder which seems to implicate them! A new town, some news zany characters. Some suspense and a bit of romance and a lot of laugh out loud humor. And just when you think the whole thing is solved it's not! But then she ties the whole thing up with a nice bow! Can't wait for the second book in this series.

Bee and Ruby have given up the food truck and moved to Mystery Maine. Not long after opening their store, a body was found in the store, stabbed to death with one of Bee's knives. Of course, the ladies are the prime suspects seeing that it is their store. Well, they have to clear their names and start there search. During their investigation, they learn the the jewelry store next to them was slated to be robbed. This is a great mystery with a great plot and great characters. This is going to be a great series.

Bee and Ruby have a bakery in Mystery, Maine. The food truck is no more. Ruby has also lost her engagement ring, when a stranger comes in and gives it back to her. Said he found it outside. Strange things happen in the town of Mystery, and Ruby isn't her usual self. Is it that she and Bee are cursed? A definite possibility when the alarm is triggered, and they find a dead body inside their locked bakery. Then Jamie and Ruby are having some issues. Can everything be worked out? I've read a lot of books written by Rosie A. Point; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the first book in the Bee’s Bakery Cozy Mystery Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Ruby & Bee; they’ve opened their new bakery and everything is going great until the manager of the jewelry store is murdered. They become suspects when his body is found in their bakery.

Death and Donuts is the first book in the Bee's Bakery cozy series. It's a quick read about friends Ruby and Bee who exchange their life operating a traveling food truck to opening a bakery in Mystery, Maine. Since Bee used to be a cop and Ruby used to be an investigative journalist, they can't help being amateur sleuths. When Cody Marks, manager of the jewelry store next door is found knifed to death in their bakery, they need to solve the murder so they can reopen the bakery asap. I liked the main characters and the small town feel.

Fun, new series! Loved the Bite-sized Bakery series that started with Ruby & Bee traveling from town to town selling baked goods from a food truck. Now, in the spin-off, they have moved to a small coastal town in Maine and opened a brick and mortar bakery called Bee’s. Ruby is engaged to be married to Jamie. Everything is falling into place for a great new life, until there is a murder! Great start to a new cozy series. Can’t wait for the next one!

Bee and Ruby have finally settled down, and opened a store front bakery , instead of just their food truck, in the small town of Mystery Maine. Of course, just because they finally settled into one place doesn’t mean that trouble won’t find them, or they won’t go investigating when things get deadly. Story was fun, quick read. Liked the twists.

Bee and Ruby are at it again. Just when they move to their new home and before they can open the bakery and the guy from the ring store is murdered in the bakery and so they have to find out who killed him because everyone suspects them because the bakery was locked so even though Jamie just got hired on as a cop on the force Ruby feels she has to do it. This new series already feels like it's going to be awesome just like the rest and I want more.
