Molly’s younger brother becomes jealous of her special privileges when she contracts chicken pox.
This picture book depicts the once common scenario of a child having chicken pox. Now children are vaccinated for chicken pox, and it isn’t a regular part of childhood, but the experience of having a sibling who gets to stay home, watch tv, and receive special treatment due to an illness remains universal.
As a Gen X-er, I particularly enjoyed the illustration of Molly listening to a Walkman.
