Georgina Witherspoon heads to Texas to help her maternal aunt with her grandmother. Grandma Maybelle and Aunt Vernice claim to see the ghost of Grandma's deceased lover. Soon Georgina sees the same. Instead of an interesting side story, I thought the idea was shoved in to add filler to the story.

Add to that the butting of heads of Sheriff Ash Barrett and Georgina and it could have been a much better story. Couldn't a 33-year-old man have known that other women were different than his deceased wife? And Georgina, a virgin, fights with him, then lets him touch her intimately, then fights, then lets him touch her intimately, then fights.....come on. I thought I should have felt some sexual tension between the two characters but I didn't.

Two stars is a generous rating. So far what I've read of Alice Duncan aka Rachel Wilson is not that great.

Wow! This book is very interesting and fun to read. It's very hilarious. Georgina came from New York to the New Mexico territory to assist her aunt in caring for her grandmother who they thought had gone insane. On getting there, they found out that she was not really insane but was being haunted by the ghost of her late lover.
Ashley Barrett is the town sheriff and he was the one sent to pick Georgina from the station. He had a wrong opinion of her from the onset, seeing her as a worthless city girl, because he once had a bad experience with his late wife. But stories changed along the line with lots of dramas... I totally enjoyed every moment spent reading this book, it was so engrossing. "I received this book from eBook discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review".

Fun, lovely story

Lots of ghostly mischief in this book mixed in with old west romance! Great read! Not too much of a true history, but so worth the read!

This was a very good western love story. I enjoyed the humor that the ghost brought to the story to.This is an Arthur I'll be following.

Georgina Witherspoon is from New York and comes from a rich family that has servants. She finds out that her grandmother is “ill” and wants to head west to go help her aunt and Grandmother out. Life in the New Mexico Territory is different than she expected but she has always wanted adventure. She is trying to embrace everything that is the western culture. She has several culture shocks along the way but grows to love everything about it.
Ash Barrett is the sheriff in Picacho Wells in the New Mexico Territory where Georgina’s family lives. He has an issue with Georgina from the start because she is a big city girl and reminds him of his dead wife Phoebe. All though Georgina is really nothing like his wife and it takes him ages to see it.
Georgina’s grandmother is not insane like everyone thinks. She is very high spirited though which is against polite society that they were all raised in. Devlin her lover of 25 years died and now is haunting her and everyone he sees fit to show himself too.
I liked the writing style. The ghost made me laugh several times. I know the characters were written well enough that I wanted to slap both of the bankers silly. I loved how one tells her the other is going to try to do something bad to her but he had already tried that himself. I just wanted to hug her poor aunt. I will definitely have to check out the other books in the series because it was good for a laugh and a good romance.

This has to be one of the most hilarious books I have read for a while. Georgina's parents express their obvious disenchantment with Grandmother Maybelle, but her plight calls to Georgina and she persuades her parents to allow her to cross the country in order to go and assist her aunt and ailing grandmother. As it turns out, her crotchety grandmother doesn't need that much help, but Georgina is entranced with the territories, where life is hard but fulfilling. Meeting a real-life sheriff is not at all what she expected, and as the two lock horns, Ash alternately frustrates Georgina and entices her. Ash has been married once and has no intention of repeating the experience. He is therefore surprised at the possessive feelings he has for Georgina. When two other suitors show their faces, Ash has a hard time controlling his temper. Throw in a stubborn Grandmother and a reprobate ghost, this novel had me laughing out loud from beginning to end. It is well written and entertaining, with memorable characters that kept me in stitches. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Georgina Witherspoon is a woman who speaks her mind. She wants to be away from New York society life.
Heading west to spend time with her grandmother and aunt Vernace.

On arriving in the real life wild west setting in New Mexico. Georgina is introduced to a whole new way of life.
Already butting heads with Sheriff, Ash Barrett. He wants nothing to do with women, but has strong attraction to Georgina and her New York stuffy ways.
Georgina meets Devlin Murphy, a ghost. Who is haunting her grandmother, Maybelle Murphy.

A well written intriguing story, with compelling characters that will entertain you to the last page.

A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Follow our feisty heroine as she heads West to help her aunt look after her grandmother, who everyone is saying has gone mad as she says she's being haunted. After finding her feet in this little community Georgina discovers that ghosts are real, she is quite capable of churning butter and, no matter where you are, men, alive or not, are idiots.
As always the characters are beautifully fleshed out.

Spirit of Love is a cute historical Western romance. The book has some truly funny moments with a light, fun feel that makes it a joy to read. However, the hero is a bit of a downer who definitely doesn’t deserve the tough, plucky heroine, and the characters behave rather ridiculously at times.

Contains graphic sex scenes.
