John Wellington "Jack" Kent (1920 – 1985) was an American cartoonist and prolific author-illustrator of children's books. He is perhaps best known as the creator of the comic strip King Aroo. In addition to his own books, he illustrated more than twenty books by other authors.

A beginner's graphic novel (comic book - they'll always be comic books to me!), in which Cindy gets to babysit a witch's dog for a spell, err, afternoon. Only, of course, the dog's enchanted, and every time Prince hiccups, he changes into a different animal, and mayhem ensues.

It's free to borrow from OpenLibrary, and I'm sure it'll get a laugh from newly independent readers. Might be a good one to bookmark on your device for the next time you're stuck in traffic, etc.

This book was an absolute favorite at my house growing up! We asked my parents to read it very regularly, and our favorite adult guests pretty much all had to read it to us at least once. The story was cute and the pictures were hilarious. I remember my mother marveling at how every single person who read it to us burst out laughing at the image of the cat-tree!

My parents' copy has long since disappeared, and I'd love to find a new one. I can hear my own children laughing over it already.

Mysig, knasig och helt underbart att läsa högt för barnen ur!
Den stackars flickan tog sig verkligen vatten över huvudet när hon gick med på att vakta en hund som lapat sig full av häxbrygd. Varje gång den stackars hunden hickar så förvandlas den till ett nytt djur. Duvor, katter, elefanter, lejon. Och sällan blir det ett, för situationen, lämpligt djur.
