Bloodied and scattered but still unbroken, the Knights Corporealis have one last option left to stop Balavad from conquering Vinnr—they may have to destroy it themselves.
Book Four, the final story in the epic fantasy adventure of The Shackled Verities, with magic, monsters, and a Cosmos-crossing quest.
Ulfric and Symvalline narrowly survived Balavad’s attempt to take over the realm of Arc Rheunos, and now find some relief in seeing their daughter Isemay adopt a new life there. If their hopes are answered, it will be a safe one. But hope is a fickle thing.
Jaemus Bardgrim, on the other hand, remains the Cosmos’s most reluctant hero. With the aid of someone quite unexpected, he resumes his quest to save Himmingaze from the Glister Cloud’s looming annihilation.
Yet, none of them can escape the real threat. Vinnr, and one way or another the Great Cosmos, lies at destruction’s doorstep, approaching its final defeat by Balavad’s cruelest Ravener army of all, the enslaved people of Dyrrakium.
In The Shackled Verities’ final story, the Knights Corporealis go to war against dragørs, Verities, and time itself. They and their few remaining allies must rally for one last fight against Balavad the usurper. Some do it for hope, some for family, some for redemption, but in the end, they all face one truth: a human life is no match for the eternal power of a celestial. If they are very, very lucky, one human’s sacrifice may be.
Former Army paratrooper, Tammy Salyer now channels her thirst for adventure and high-flying hijinks into high-octane narratives. Her Shackled Verities series is a Cosmos-crossing epic fantasy adventure. Her Spectras Arise series is action-packed military science fiction, praised for its gritty realism and well-crafted characters. And if you love a good Western with a twist, then you won’t want to miss her Otherworld Outlaws series and its blend of Celtic mythology and unforgettable Wild West action.

Five verities, one of whom wants to rule over all the cosmos. Balavad is gradually taking over and spreading his evil miasma over the realms.
The knights have a gargantuan task ahead of them but with Vaka Aster caged and Stallari Aldinhaus surviving in whatever body he can find will they succeed?
The individual stories and histories of some of the knights come together in this book as they battle to save the five realms.
This is the last in the Shackled Verities series and I didn’t want it to end, but all good things must come to an end and when this one did I felt a mixture of emotions.
Sad that the story had ended. Happy as I really enjoyed the story. Glad that the confusion of ideas that I had had over the “destruction of the destruction” had been resolved.
You’ll have to read the book for yourself to understand that quote as I’m not giving it away.
I recommend that if you are intrigued by this book you start at the beginning of the series with book one so that it all makes sense.
This is such a good, well written series that it is one that I will read over and over again as I think that there is so much to it I will get more of the nuances with each reading.
A truly grand and wholly satisfying conclusion featuring fantastic new character/creatures and a sprawling battle that was Tolkienesque. Spanning the four remaining realms, the focus shifts seamlessly between characters including my personal favorites Jaemus and Mylla. An epic ending to a complex story.
