When Charlie Somes is around, dead men do tell tales — and dead women too.
His gift of touch telepathy has been invaluable to the local police in solving murders, stopping Otherworldly serial killers, and bringing gangsters to justice. Now all Charlie wants is to finish his PhD in chemistry in peace and spend time with his girlfriend Michelle. Instead, there's Michelle's violent ex-boyfriend Dave, a new organised crime outfit in town, and a murderous prince of the Fae who hasn't forgotten what Charlie did to him last time.
And they all have one thing in common — they're out for Charlie's blood.
Mr Owton’s world is fascinating and his Fae are amazing.
The ickiness I referenced in the previous book. Confirmed. Still icky.
The main character’s ethics…. Becoming more slippery. There is a scene early in the book involving a bad guy, a long jump and a short pier that, while sympathetic, would have been an excellent point for the protagonist to be considering the ethics involved in using his powers. It is concerning but not enough YET to ruin my enjoyment of the story.
Deeper Shadows of Faerie draws readers into a mysterious world full of magic and intrigue. The story’s vivid descriptions and engaging characters make it an enjoyable and immersive read for fantasy lovers.
