It comes to the south of France in 1348. And it proves it doesn't play favorites. It takes strong men as easily as it takes innocent children. It is the Plague. I taught this to my remedial ninth graders. They were at times interested and at times bored. Overall, there was good messaging about the terrible impact of anti-Semitism and overcoming that through the ages.
I read this in order to see some of the readings that my Read 180 students were completing. I found that this book was really interesting. It also goes along with what we read in the rBook (the Read 180 textbook) to an extent. Unfortunately, my classroom library does not have enough copies for all of my students to read it at once .... Looks like I might be looking for some more!
