One chapter in, and I’m already in love with Trotter’s writing style. Chapter One opens with the hero introducing himself and the situation he now finds himself in, and the way it reads reminds me of the opening of the early Dragnet radio/television show. It’s got that film noir tone, which I think is awesome. The first chapter is also sort of a recap of some of the action that took place in the previous books, so if you haven’t already read them, you can get caught up on the highlights.
This is a friends-to-lovers story, and Seb and Jamie have an easy-going, close, and flirtatious friendship to begin with. Trouble is, they are both wildly attracted to each other, but unable to act on it. For Jamie, it’s because she’s caught in an abusive relationship that she’s not sure how to get out of, and for Seb, it’s out of respect for Jamie’s situation.
The two of them are really sweet together, and the banter between the friends/co-workers is pretty fucking hysterical.

Loved it
She did it again. I loved this book. They just keep getting better and better. I couldn't out it down i had to read it in one sitting. It is a must read. I can't wait for her next book.

The mysterious
I would say this is my favorite book in the series. I loved Garcia and Jamie . If you have read the other three books you know Garcia is a mystery and you get to here his story.

This is my first book by this author and I'm glad I gave it try. This is the 4th book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. In this book our main characters are Jamie and Sebastian who most call him by his last name Garcia. Jamie is the money of Nick who is on the homicide team with Garcia. This story hooks you right at the beginning and keeps you reading to find out how it's going to end. I liked how this story had just the right amount of mistory and yet we still got some hot scenes from the couple. Glad I got to find a new author for me!!
