Fading Ink: and other poems

Rate this book
A short collection of 20 samples of original verse, previously unpublished, Fading Ink is a personal testimony to endings, to that which fades in time, but also to new beginnings that rise from those things which are lost to fate, chance, and even choices.

Partly inspired from prose already written and partly from new and creative influences, here is a rare glimpse into the mind and soul of Ariel Archer.

A Must-Read!

This is an absolutely beautiful collection of poetry! It has a classical feel to it almost reminiscent of 19th century romanticism. Brilliant use of language as the author redefines the true meaning of beauty and love. All the while fighting to keep the flame of their passion alive and burning. Packed full of wisdom. Definitely recommend over and over!

Pleasant little book of poetry, quite different from anything I've read in a long time. Several of the poems are a sort of mix between Old English and contemporary, which is interesting. None of it follows any current trend, but that's perfectly fine because the thing that's great about poetry is that there are no rules!

My absolute favorite in the collection is the title poem. It's definitely the one standout. I also really like the cover, not that it has anything to do with what's inside, but if you take the entire book as a work of art, being that it's poetry, it does make a difference.

The type of poetry you go back to for a few re-reads. Great verses. I loved Don't Catch Feelings. So true.

"Kindness to a pretty face comes quick
from the thirsty and illiterate
hoping to gain while not seeing her loss
and missing the ever beckoning fine print."
---Ariel Archer, Fading Ink

Ariel Archer gathers her thoughts in this quick yet poignant collection. Archer is able to capture a feeling that is common to humanity without us realizing it, and she does it in such few words. For many of her verses, I found myself thinking, "Wow. I HAVE felt that way, but wasn't able to name it, or write it down." Archer does both. I was particularly moved by the initial and namesake poem of the book, "Fading Ink." I felt it truly captured our behavior as a social media -driven society, while gently reminding us to pay attention to what's important--the words, another's story, the fine print--before it's gone for good.
