Probably 2.5 rounded up. A few good stories but mostly short-winded and wanting. The author seems have had run-ins with Bigfoot, Lake Superior monsters, and ghosts?

The best part was probably about shipwrecks because it had no conjecture. Gunhilda story was great.

Overall, this was fun. This book was written almost 20 years ago, so there is more information available on some of the stories thanks to technology. Certainly a great introduction to our spooky North Shore. However, I wouldn’t suggest reading it while camping, alone, in the dark.

This is a neat little book to read if you're looking to pass the time while reading about something spooky/supernatural that deals with Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior. I picked it up in a local bookstore in Duluth, MN during a weekend visit, and it was the perfect thing to jump in and out of as I read between activities and at night in the hotel room before bed. While the stories told here don't go that in-depth, it was fun to read about things that supposedly happened right near where we were staying at the time, and I always love reading books that take place in the settings where I travel/live.

Recommended if you want a quick, breezy read about paranormal/mythical creatures and happenings along Minnesota's North Shore.

I really liked this one! It's short (111 pages), so I got it done in one evening, but it's a fun read if you're visiting the North Shore area, or perhaps doing the Lake Superior Circle Tour. I live on Lake Superior, and I really liked reading about the areas I've been to a bunch of times. I can't wait to read their other three books!

Not really short stories. More like short columns on some things they have heard/experienced on the North shore in a wide range of topics. Very pleasant Short book

A good book if you need something to read in a day or two. Some stories were fun, others were written like they had a 200 word limit and had to cut it out most of the information.
