This was a good read. Jade is forced to go on vacation. She decides to go to her mom's beach house. While here she runs into her ex husband Daniel. Once the truth comes out they give themselves a second chance at love. Thankfully this time it works out for them.

Precious Godwinks Throughout Entire Book!
by Barbara Kelley
"Beach House Promises" is Book 1 of the Bright Beach Retreat series, written most lovingly by Morris Fenris. This is the first book I've read by this author, and as soon as get finished with some other ARCs, I plan on reading Books 2 and 3.
This series is about the mother of 3 adult siblings dying from Cancer and a heart attack, and then leaving her beach home to the three of them in her Will. The siblings are Jade, Emma, and Logan. This book has all three siblings in it, but it primarily focuses on 28 year old Jade, her little 7 year old daughter, Haley, and Haley's biological father, Daniel. When Jade was 19 years old, she went to college in Portland, Oregon, not far from their beach house. While on summer vacation from college, she meets 20 year old Daniel, a handsome Englishman who was attending law school in England, but who was also on summer vacation in Oregon. The two of them spend a few weeks together and fall in love, getting married in Oregon. Jade doesn't tell her mom or siblings about Daniel, and after they get married, he takes her to England to meet his family. After only a week in England, and with Daniel's overbearing rich and cruel father's butting into their lives, he forces both Daniel and Jade to sign annulment papers. He threatens to take away Daniel's Trust Fund, and without it, Daniel would have no way to financially support Jade, nor would he be able to get his law degree. A very unhappy Jade returns to Oregon, and because Daniel didn't explain his father's threats, she thought Daniel never really loved her. But he did. Fast forward 8 years. Jade has a beautiful 7 year old daughter named Haley, who has green eyes and a little dimple in her chin, just like her daddy. When Haley was 2 years old, Jade married Scott, a man who stayed with her for 5 years before telling Jade he was in love with another woman. He tells Jade that he needed to be with somebody who wasn't still in love with her first husband. Jade's mother died only 6 months earlier, and now Scott left her. And little Haley lost her grandmother and the only daddy she ever knew. When Scott left them, Haley wondered why he didn't love her anymore. Jade couldn't give her an answer. What made matters worse is that Jade's boss at the Advertising Firm told Jade that she had to take the 3 months of vacation time she had accrued. This wasn't a request, but an order. So, Jade and Haley go to her hometown in Oregon. There, she would renovate the beach house for a possible sale, as this is what her sister, Emma wanted to do. Jade and Haley lived in San Francisco, Emma lived and worked in Phoenix, and Logan was with the Navy Seals on a secret mission, and the sisters didn't even know if he knew their mother was dead. When Jade and Haley reach Oregon, Jade is there a couple if weeks when she receives a call from her boss that the company merged with another company and her position was eliminated, but that she would get a really bug severance settlement. Call it Fate, Kismet, or Godwinks, but everything seemed to magically fall into place. Jade was in Oregon with Haley, Emma has a setback from her job at an art museum, Daniel returns to Jade's home town to try and find her, and Logan is injured and forced to return home for physical therapy. God, in all his infinite Mercy, has plans for every main character in this book.
I love this book so much that I gave it a 5 star rating. I only found 3 minor errors, one was using the wrong name, and 2 were inadvertent switching of character names, but overall, this was a really good book. I loved that it was a clean Christians based read, where anybody ages teen to adult to really old adult, can read it without fear of being bombarded with graphic scenes. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

When it rains, it pours. Jade can’t seem to stop the downpour when her mother dies and she loses her job right after her divorce. Ready for a change and some time off, she packs their bags and heads with her daughter to the Oregon beach house that she grew up in. Never mind that she’s spent the last eight years avoiding the place and the memories it holds of her first love; she’s determined to do what’s best for her daughter.
Pushed to his limit with his father’s demands, Daniel suddenly finds himself traveling back to the one place he had always been happiest - an Oregon beach town where he had met the love of his life eight years earlier. He wasn’t sure what he had expected, but he certainly isn’t prepared for what he finds there.
Beach House Promises follows Jade and Daniel as they learn to move past regrets and mistakes made in the past so that they can build something new and beautiful even among the ruins of their broken lives.
It was a charming and easy read and perfect for enjoying on my own beach vacation. While it wasn’t much of a deep read (and it definitely could have been with the scope of topics covered), I appreciated the main characters’ likable personalities and the layers of small mysteries that were uncovered throughout the stories. There were several questions left unanswered, and it’s clear that the rest of the series will focus on Jade’s siblings’ stories, so I’m off to add the second and third books in the Beach Retreat series to my TBR pile!

Jade was hoping for that promotion at work--the one she'd been working so hard to achieve. It cost her a lot--time, her marriage, and so much more. But suddenly everything changes, and Jade is jobless. How will she support herself and her daughter, especially when her ex-husband walks away and cuts all ties? She's had 1 crisis after another since the death of her mother; how much more can she take? Jade and her sister and brother have inherited their mother's home. With nothing much else on her calendar for the summer, she travels there to put things in order. It shouldn't take more than the summer, she can put the house on the market, and then she can get on with finding that next job. Jade is eventually joined by her sister and brother, each with their own story to tell.
Daniel returns to Blackstone Cove as he tries to escape his father's controlling ways. He laments leaving the only true love of his life--Jade--and hopes to find her. Will Jade and Daniel find each other again in Blackstone? And how will he react to Jade's surprise?
A fast-paced story with romance, drama, and an energetic little girl named Haley. I enjoyed this clean contemporary drama and am looking forward to Logan's story next.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily expressed my honest opinion in this review.

To Everything There Is a Season … a time to heal
If you like heartwarming as well as heart wrenching books that give a good dose of reality, you probably will love this book. It reaches deep within and makes you think. Grief is something we all experience at one time or another and the way we handle it can make a big difference in our life, our future. Jade’s mother dies and she goes to her mom’s house to get it in order and to deal with her feelings, thoughts and emotions. That never is easy but it is healing.
I loved how the family was able to reconnect and Jade’s daughter, Haley, adds so much to the story.
I like reading books that have a message to tell and stays on the plot line rather than use page after page of unnecessary filler copy. This is a shorter read that stays on point. It’s a clean book that has undertones of faith. It’s a good book to sit back and read while relaxing.

I enjoyed this book. The setting was divine, and the concept of turning an old house into an Inn was fabulous as it's something I think would be so much fun. I loved the dynamic between Jade and her daughter Haley. Following their story as Daniel comes into their lives was wonderful. There were times I felt so empathetic, and times where I felt angry especially at Daniel's dad. I do like that we get to see Emma and Logan's perspectives as well, and that the siblings are all coming back together. I do feel the pacing was a little too quick at times, and I would love the books to be a bit longer. Also, having read most of the Rocky Ridge series, I was expecting a little more faith content in the book. So I was a little disappointed that this book didn't have faith content. Overall the book was good, and I will continue reading books from this author.

What a great book. As Jade goes through the loss of a spouse and then her mom, what better time to use the vacation for a much needed grieving process. Taking the time to settle the beach house matters after her moms passing. It seems that things are falling into place as ideas come of converting the house into an inn instead of selling it. What will her siblings say? The lost love and the secrets of her mother will soon need to be faced but will the grieving heart find room for love again?
I can not wait to find out what is to come next.
This is a great clean read with a great balance and story line with good flow.

Very enjoyable read. Thought the characters were all great and enjoyed the leading characters especially: Jade, Haley, Dan, Emma and Logan. The 3 siblings had to decide unanimously on what to do with the beach house their mother gave them in Oregon on the ocean. Transforming it into a inn is what the sisters started and Logan supported. Jade especially had a rough time with her love relationships, husbands. However, that never changed her kind and compassionate nature. Liked the second chance she was given and enjoyed the intrigue throughout as it kept me pulled into the book.

Beach House Promises is the first in a new series by Morris Fenris. Morris has quickly become one of my favorite authors. He writes beautiful stories without the unnecessary sex and violence that proves that you do not need that to “sell” books. This is a story of siblings inheriting a house and how they move on through their grief, loss of jobs and divorce. I love how the characters interact with each other, and how perfectly he describes the settings. It makes one feel as if you are a part of the story. Highly recommended, and can’t wait for the second. Thanks to BookSiren for the ARC of this book.

I enjoyed this story. There are three books to the series, however they can be read as a stand alone. It is a clean romance. Jade is forced to take her 3 months vacation leave. She and her daughter head back to the house she grew up in. She runs into her first husband. Find out what happens in this great story.
The characters are great and I really enjoyed the story. There are some twist and turns.nit kept me engaged. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

This is pretty good. Jade is very relatable and portrays the strength of a single mother very well. Daniel is great and adds some calmness to her upheaval. Although their road to another chance at romance goes through the emotional stages of redemption, forgiveness and rekindling of soulmates, Jade and her siblings reunion to the familial beach house also tugs at the heart strings encompassing some very serious revelations and some humor amongst the happy moments. She is forced to take a vacation
She goes to her mother’s home to clear it out after her death. And it gives her a chance to grieve . . . and think about life. So she takes her daughter with her - which gives her a chance to reconnect with her! Can this be a new beginning at the beach house for them?? This is a great book about healing, connecting with family . . .. TOTALLY LOVED IT. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.

Beach House Promises is Book 1 in the Brighton Beach Retreat by Morris Fenris. I really enjoyed this book and I thought the characters were wonderful. This was a very engaging book. I enjoyed the characters and it wasn't boring, though a little obvious what would happen in the end. Some aspects of the couples' story seemed a bit far fetched, but they redeemed themselves and were down to earth people. As I read the book I could see how expanding other side characters' stories would make great sequels so I'm looking forward to reading the subsequent books.

This was a sweet story and a light and easy read. Nothing too heavy to pull the reader through an emotional roller-coaster, but did touch on some hard topics. Although there were times I hoped for more character development with Jade and Daniel, it was Haley that I felt stole the show with her curious but honest and innocent demeanor. I look forward to reading the next books in the series to see what these characters are up to.

Wonderful
I loved this book.
Young lovers who were separated by the mans controlling father who meet again years later.
Jade was going through heard time when she returned to her families beach house.
She never expected to see Daniel again.
I enjoyed the 2 of them getting to know each other again

Good book
This is an uplifting book for anyone going through troubles. Jade has been through some hard times in the last 7 years. Her marriage ended, her Mom died and now she lost her job. She ends up at the beach house she inherited with her siblings and things start going uphill. Now on to book 2!

What a Sweet Beach House book!
This book is about promises made during the renovation of a beach by a mother, her daughter, and a beloved uncle. Read this book to learn how dreams came true for a little girl, her mother, and their uncle.

I really enjoyed this story.nit was well written and held my interest from start to finish. I just can’t hardly wait to read the next two episodes. Does Katherine get a job at the VA hospital and meet Logan? I guess I will just have to wait a pond see.

Great story
The theme seems to be perseverance. Jade had so many crossroads in her life, didn't know which way to go but she persevered.
Daniel had decided he wanted Jade & began heading that direction. He found her & then was diligent in pursuing her & helping.
