The Lazy Old Cat finds a pointy black hat is the first book in Hendrik and Estella’s new Blue Fork Rhymes illustrated children’s series. So, I guess you could call it A BLUE FORK RHYMES BEST SELLER. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Brief excerpt
Aunt May sat on the porch with her lazy old cat when she spied with her eye a big fat rat. So she turned and looked at her lazy old cat, who was sound asleep on the furry black mat. She said quite loudly to her lazy old cat, “Come on and catch that big fat rat.”
The eyes did blink of that lazy old cat, but it did not move from the furry black mat. So what’s up with that? So what’s up with that? 1 - 2 - 3...

First and foremost, we wanted this new series to be a fun, shared, family read. Basic language and word repetition for the little ones with familiar words and simple stories for beginning readers.

Estella has taken her pastel story board and digitally remastered it. She hopes your kids like the illustrations as much as she enjoyed creating them.

Billy Bob and Miss Honey Brown Bear live in “Teddy Town.” They make Teddy Bears there all year round. But now baby bears want something new. What should they do? Maybe baby May has a clue.

An interesting rhyming book that shows a cat finding a black hat, rat-a-tat-tat. I loved the pictures done for the book and it is good for children of younger ages who enjoy rhymes. It is sweet and well put together. The biggest thing that got to me was the 123. Not sure I understood it but a nice easy read!

7 year old approves
My 7year old said he really likes this book. He enjoyed the relationship between the animals.
I personally would’ve rated it a 3. The plot was interesting and a quite unfinished. Illustration was basic and left very little to discuss. The cool part was that tire was spelled the British way “tyre”. Also, I didn't care for the 1...2...3... I have absolutely no idea what the purpose was and it didn't rhyme with anything else (given that this is a rhyming book).

This story was only a few pages but it held my daughter attention from the beginning to the end I’m looking forward to reading more from the author

It's was okk
My son some what enjoyed this book. He did love the illustrations he payed attention to the pictures more than the story
