Editor Gregory (son of Sir Wm. Gregory, sometime Governor of Ceylon and Member of Parliament, and Lady Gregory, the godmother to the Irish Literary Revival) was not only the subject of some of Yeats' greatest poetry, but also a creator in his own right, as artist, designer of stage sets at the Abbey Theatre, book illustrator, a famous horseman, and cricketer. Marking the centenary of his birth, this includes contemporary writings about him and his paintings, Yeats' poetry, and many illustrations of his work.
