This is a book that was published in the time of when flin=m was popular before the use of digital camera and modern photoshop. The only editing you could have done was in the darkroom. But that doesn't mean that the ideas for this book are not something of interest. Different ways of looking at photographing children in different ways. Spontaneous or posing for example. Black and white or color for another example. As someone who has a nephew that is almost two (as of this posting on Feb. 14, 2019) I have looked at many chances to get that photo of my young nephew. And by reading this book it so far has helped me capture one moment so far. Its tips are not outdated as maybe with using film is nowadays.
Published in 1971, this series is a comprehensive overview of many aspects of photography. Only the titles specific to equipment; The Camera; Light and Film; and The Print are a bit outdated, but not completely for the same principles still apply such as shutter speed, depth of field, etc. By far, a great series for any would be serious photographer even today.
