Beginning with the Normans, this book traces the development of the English interior through to such styles as Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Palladian. The great English architects and designers, from Inigo Jones in the seventeenth century to John Fowler in the twentieth, are all included and their influences explained.
