So, You Want to Write a Fantasy Book? Part 3 Setting and Worldbuilding: A Writing Prompt Journal to help you develop your setting, cultures, people, and worlds, and design your own world maps

Rate this book
So, you want to write a fantasy book, eh? Have you been working on it for a while, or just starting? If you’re just starting, this will help you greatly, but if you’ve been working for a while, this should help you polish it.

While Part 1 was about the story as a whole, and Part 2 about developing characters, this one is focused on Setting and worldbuilding. It looks at the world as a whole as well as help you develop the individual nations. You go into details with your nations and cultures, you look at what war and weaponry exists, you look at what people do for art, leisure, and entertainment, you look at what makes a nation's history, and you think about what magic looks like and the role magic plays in your world.

This is the book for wanting to create full, immersive worlds that you and the audience want to explore and exist in, and organized into a convenient workbook to guide you along the journey.

I also include a step by step tutorial to create your own fantasy maps, including a guide for coming up with location and character names, and some quick reference guides to help you create cities and countries quickly.

Stefan Coleman is an author, a graphic designer, and substitute teacher from the frozen wilderness of Alaska. Although initially a mathematics major, a random creative writing class necessary to fill a hole in his schedule awakened his passion for writing, and the works of Tolkien, CS Lewis, and Timothy Zahn have kept it burning.

In his spare time, he loves photography and sharing it with the hope people can still find the sun through whatever clouds are going on in their lives. He’d love to connect, and he can be found on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, at firebrand101.
