Definitely a time capsule. This biography covers from the Civil War until the 1880s regarding crime trends in New York City.
Being an authentic time capsule also means offensive tropes regarding race, gender, and ethnicity. If you're able to compartmentalize this aspect, it's a great look back to a period in time that lacks documentation.
