These timeless tales presented in a thrilling, graphic novel-style format will get even the most reluctant readers excited about reading. Bank Street, a trusted name among educators, developed the series and is creating teacher's guides that will explain how to use the books with struggling readers, with ELLs, and with on-level readers as an introduction to literature that will encourage them to go on to read the originals.
Seymour Victory Reit was the author of over 80 children's books as well as several works for adults. Reit was the creator, with cartoonist Joe Oriolo, of the character Casper the Friendly Ghost.
This is a set of graphic novels based on 3 classic stories. I like the art and the synopsis was good. I still do not feel this is a true graphic novel in that the pictures are nice, but you could understand the story without the pictures. I think this is a good way to introduce students to classical liteature.
