Excellent "Historical" Christian Romance. I fell in love with this series after reading the first book in this series. I learned about life on the new frontier, travel of imigrants from Norway and the troubles of living in the northern plains in the late 1800's and early 1900s. Most of all, I saw an example of characters living a christian life that is so uncommon in everyday "romance" novels.

Lauraine Snelling’s Red River of the North series follows Norwegian immigrants who settle in Norrh Dakota territory and build their home and lives admist many struggles. The series is engaging and invites the reader along for the sometimes tenuous journey of the Bjorklands.

Good series but research the order first as this author introduces many new and returning characters. If you are a fan of Jeanette Oke you'll be pleasantly surprised by this author.
