A Copper Ridge Mystery #5

Murder on the Stage

Emily and Maggie have front row seats to a murder…

… and there is nowhere to escape to.

A blizzard rages outside, Emily and her new little feline, Maggie and Mrs. Smithers have taken refuge in the old, haunted Gage Hotel.

To make matters worse, Emily has now started to see ghosts herself, specifically the ghost of old Mr. Gage.

The body count rises inside, but luckily not as fast as the snow piles up outside. Could the killer be the entitled socialite or someone from the theater group also trapped in the hotel.

Will Emily be able to solve this murder before the roads are cleared?

This was a crazy but fun version of a locked room mystery except it was an entire hotel that was locked down because of a blizzard. I’d never be as brave as Emily and her friends with a killer running loose in the hotel, I know I’d be hiding somewhere lol. But Emily did what she did best, sleuth and run a couple ghost tours to keep the hotel guests from being bored. It was really nice of the hotel owners to offer free rooms for locals when there was an emergency like that. I couldn’t believe how clueless Emily was at first when everyone kept saying there was gonna be a blizzard, lol. She learned pretty fast though.

The showdown was a good one when Emily confronted the killer. She’s been good about letting Alex and his team know to be on standby when she figures out whodunit, so the police were nice and conveniently close by.

So good

A blizzard, a murder, and an obnoxious heiress are all keeping Emily and Alex busy. I love how her mind just keeps clicking the pieces together until she solves the murder.
