Amarah Rey is like any other human. She works a meaningless job and lives her life going through the motions never actually living. More like surviving. Sure, she has family, friends, and her fair share of heartbreak just like everyone else, but something always seems to be missing. Nothing and no one ever seems to fill the hole in her heart.
One night, that all changes when a handsome stranger named Logan Lewis, shows up and turns her world upside down with talk of power, Fey, demons, and a war that is on the verge of ending humanity. Why should Amarah care about any of this? Turns out, she's not human at all. She is a powerful key to keeping the demons from destroying the world she knows and the world she doesn't.
Amarah and Logan seemed to be drawn to each other somehow. It doesn’t help that he is everything she’s ever wanted. The connection is instant, and this type of intoxicating, all-consuming feeling is dangerous in its own way. What does it mean? Who is he and can she trust him? Does she have a choice?
Amarah has a long and dangerous journey ahead of her filled with the enemies she knows, and the enemies that hide in plain sight. Can she survive with all the odds stacked against her? Can she complete her training, unlock her power, learn to control it, and master it to become the person she was always meant to be? Is she strong enough to become the one true Võitleja, Warrior of the Fey?
I was born in October 1985, & live in Albuquerque, NM with my two dogs. I grew up in a small town where I fell in love with reading at a young age. Reading about new, exciting, magical worlds, & heroic characters, truly freed & inspired me. It is with this inspiration that the Amaray Rey, Fey Warrior novel came to life. I have since written several spicy retellings!
I really enjoyed this book! What's nice about Awaken is it has a little bit of everything. I love how Amarah is a strong female character who is badass but also vulnerable. She knows how to stick up for herself but she also knows when to ask for help. I really enjoyed the side characters and how they added to the overall story. One problem I had with this book is the love triangle. I personally hate love triangles so this is basically just a me thing and not an everyone thing. I do see the appeal of both love interests but of course I have my favorite who better win😂. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and will be continuing the series. The author did a great job of writing a book that is quick/easy to read and enjoyable.
This is an urban fantasy novel about a woman who discovers that she is Fey and that the world is filled with other creatures like werewolves and vampires, and such things as royalty and magic. The supernatural world is at war, and Amarah learns that she has an important role to play and must train to wield her untapped powers in order to help protect her people.
I haven’t read many fantasy stories that are set in today’s modern world, so it took some time to get used to the setting and writing style of this book. There are a number of pop culture references, from celebrities to song titles, which I’m not normally a fan of because it tends to date a novel quicker as the references get older. But I think some readers enjoy this because it gives them a more personal connection to the setting of the story. The references do get fewer as the story delves deeper into fantasy, and this was a good way to show the reader what a different setting Amarah joins once she is embroiled in the supernatural world.
I was worried the love triangle trope in this novel would be predictable, but the author did a wonderful job of weaving enough twists into the central plot to subvert my expectations. I sure got attached to certain characters, and I definitely oohed and aahed when certain things did not go the way I was expecting them to!!
This is certainly an ambitious introduction to a fantasy world; because there are many moving parts, expect a decent amount of dialogue and exposition as the foundations of this universe are laid out and its players introduced one by one. My main point of contention would be the pacing; I think if Amarah discovered her Fey heritage and crossed over into the Fey world a lot sooner, the storytelling would have flowed a little bit better. The momentum in the second half of the novel was more exciting, and I was glued to the story from that point forward until the end.
If I had to be nitpicky, the dialogue was sometimes written a little bit awkwardly. Most people in real life speak in contractions, and it stuck out when characters in this story would say things like “Please do not worry about me, I will be alright” instead of saying “don’t worry” and “I’ll be alright.” This wasn’t a dealbreaker though and I was still able to enjoy the story a great deal. I also recognize that the author is independent and self-published. It’s no easy feat to not only write but also edit, review, publish, print, and market your own book. Kudos to Harmony for becoming a published author and thank you so much for gifting me a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest thoughts.
If you haven't read Awaken, do me a favor and add it to your tbr for this year.
Vampires, werewolves, and Fey oh my! From page one you are gripped by this book, especially by her fierce and sassy protagonist Amarah Rey. Have you ever woken up from a dream and realize there is more to life you that you ever thought possible, that is when we meet our protagonist and her struggle to find what is missing in her life.
Amarah Rey is such an amazing character, she's tough, feisty, and powerful, she completely reminds me of Selene from Underworld, and her life is about to change forever. One evening when an unexpected stranger named Logan helps her discover who she truly is, Amarah will be sweeped away into a world she didn't know existed and become a powerful fey warrior.
Absolutely loved the dynamic between Amarah and Logan, it was steamy, sexy and beautiful, I adored her character growth throughout the book and how she took control over difficult decisions and never lost hope. Harmony has created many amazing characters and you just want to get to know each one and the world she has built. Be prepared to be surprised and delighted by this fast paced and exciting new series, make sure you are ready to read that incredible cliffhanger.
I found this to be an entertaining book but it also lacked supporting details. I can see the potential is there, it just needs to be elaborated a bit more.
*** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ***
The book more or less reads like an introduction to the world rather than a well established one. I feel like there needed to be more character building and world building, especially when the world revolves around the Fae which I was excited to read about, and I didn’t find that.
I do like the fact that the main character is a female that doesn’t take sh!t from no one. You can also see some character growth from the start to the end of the book, but not believable in the sense that she’s to become a warrior, but I also get that she has yet to reach her full potential.
The introduction of Logan (and later romantic interest) felt a bit rushed and at times awkward. But the love triangle, which I’m glad dissipated (not a fan) made for an amusing interaction.
The book is an overall progression. It’s a slow start, but it does pick up with the last quarter of the book. I'm interested to see how the story unfolds.

If you like fantasy, romance and a bad ass female lead this book is for you. The fact this book includes not only fae but werewolves, vampires, demons, and so on makes it even better. I ended up liking another male character more than the lead male love interest. Whoops. Hoping my mind changes in the next book. I need more depth to Logan. I'm so looking forward to book two. I need to know how Amarah's story continues and how this war pans out. My only negative was it was more fasted paced than I prefer but not a big deal.
I guess I can write a review on my own book 🤷♀️ well, I'm obviously biased but, if you like urban fantasy, Vampires, Werewolves, Fey and magic...throw in some romance of course 💚 then you may just like my book too! Give it a read and review 🙏
While fantasy is not my usual genre to read, the cover and synopsis of this book intrigued me (and I almost never say no to one in the paranormal sub-genre)...and I was not disappointed at all. This is the story of Amarah Rey, a 34-year old who isn't sure where her life is headed, when all of that changes one day and she is revealed to be a powerful warrior of the Fey. This first book delves into the build-up and backstory of the history of the journey we're about to go on and how Amarah deals with all this information. Plus, if you're a fan of steam, you're going to enjoy this (go Team Logan, hehe). Haun knows how to deliver an interesting and intense story that holds your attention until you get to the end...way to leave it at that ending! I will be starting Book 2 as soon as I can. Harmony Haun is an amazing storyteller and should be given an opportunity by fans of fantasy, adventure and spice!
Where to begin! I finished this book in less than 24 hours, I could not put it down📖
Amarah lives a normal life; has a regular job, amazing friends, and the sweetest dog ever. Her life is ordinary, but she can’t shake the feeling there is something missing. Amarah’s world suddenly and drastically changes. She’s thrown into a whole new life where creatures she’s only heard of in stories are real and she is destined for more than she could have ever imagined.
Amarah is the type of character you can connect with on a personal level and that right there had me hooked on this book. She stays true to who she is, and learns to become the bad a** she was always meant to be.
“What I did know though, is that what came next was my choice and I wasn’t alone...This is my destiny and I will rise to the challenge.”
Y’all the men in this book 🔥🥵 I was swooning the ENTIRE time. There is a man to satisfy all the needs you could ever have🌶
I was on an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible; I did not want to get off. I am dying for the next book!
Huge thank you to the author Harmony A. Haun for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. ••• Usually, urban fantasy is not my jam, but in 2022, I wanted to get out of my comfort. I'll be honest, the first 15% or so, I thought this was not the book for me. But we hit about 20% and I couldn't put this down!
Harmony A. Haun is an indie author who was nice enough to reach out to me to help me celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Awaken on Instagram! She lives in New Mexico with her husband and four dogs. Awaken is her debut novel, and it's sequel, Fey Blood, is also out!
Amarah Rey is tired of her life. After a rough breakup she is left wondering what the point is. Go to work, come home, work out, watch tv, repeat. Is that really it? She and her friends go to a club, where she realized a mysterious guy staring at her. She feels an instant connection and her life is turned upside down.
Haun's writing style was easy to follow. I loved the short chapters. That always seems to make the book move more quickly for me. I thought the style was good for the genre. She incorporated all the preternatural species into our world so effortlessly! Like I said, the start was a little slow for me personally, but the pace definitely picked up and was well worth the wait.
Amarah, the protagonist, was a firey character. She was sassy and was not afraid to speak her mind, no matter who she was talking to. I loved that she was thrown into this world she knew nothing about, but wasn't scared to stay her own person. She didn't let the unexpected change the core of who she was. Logan, a werewolf with Fey lifeline, and Andre, a Fire Fey were the two love interests. I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping for a spicy three-way love. But, alas. I'm not going to tell you who I was rooting for or what happened, but I am excited to see where the love goes in Fey Blood. The side characters all had their own personalities and were easy to distinguish, which was nice because there was A LOT of them!
This was my first time reading a Harmony A. Haun novel, but it won't be my last. I was so impressed with her writing! It was fast paced and easy to follow with easily distinguished characters. I don't delve into the Urban Fantasy world often, but I will for sure be following this series.
I gave this a 3.5 star rating, only because of the first 15%. Her friend annoyed me saying 'friend' all the time and it was just a slow start. I am so glad I stuck around though! Be sure to pick this up if you like Urban Fantasy, indie authors, Fey, werewolves, or vampires!
If you like a light YA fantasy, this is the book for you.
Did I like this book as much as I thought? no, not really. I did like the concept of the story and how it all turned out, the magical touch was nice. And very nice to incorporate the 4 elements and give them all there own court/land/story.
ok, let's start with the good part. I love the way it was written because it was so easy to read, and it also reads very quick so that's nice. I didn't see a lot of character development other then, she started of as a badass then she became kinda like a scared bunny and then yet again a badass. So not the character development that you expect but nice to see this type of development. There is also a love intrest, well 2 kinda. Personally not a big fan of triangle love, because one of them always gets hurt. And the ending I truly hope everything becomes better because it's so sad to see him being the bad guy.
ok, now as much as I liked the story, some things did bother me. First of, when you talk to your best friend or even your friend, I would never say "friend" after every sentence you say. But that's just a personal prefrence. And the woman is 34 years old if I'm not wrong, so I thought that the story would have more of a mature touch to it but it didn"t, it felt like a story from a 16 year old to be honest, so that was kinda weird, yet again, personal opion. And I think that this was one of the first books written by the author so she is still looking for the right writing style but a little tip: you don't have to write every detail down, like every thought, breath,... sometimes it's nice to just read about the story instead over everything that's going on, because it didn't add any value to the story.
overall loved this read, I would recommend it to people who just started to read YA fantasy. But overall there're a lot of plot twitst to keep things interesting so if you are looking for a quick and easy read, definally check this one out.
thank you so much harmony for the ARC.

If you like supernatural fiction, you will like this book! Now, I haven't really read many fantasy books that are based in a modern setting, but this one was very enjoyable and the modern and fantasy settings didn't clash! I really enjoyed reading it!
I think this is the first time that I have read a book where the fey, and the fey world, are at the heart of the story. I honestly didn't know much about the fey, in general, going into it, but I think Harmony did a great job at bringing them to life in the book.
Amarah-Rey is a feisty protagonist, with a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong. We get a chance to see her as just an average person, interacting with her friends and just living a normal life, before she is introduced to the world of non-humans, or as they are known in the book "The Unseen". I like Amarah very much, I think it was an interesting and good choice for the author to make her a little bit older than most books these days and their protagonists. It is much easier to relate to a character who is a similar age to you, instead of much younger characters some books contain.
Amarah is quick to defy expectations, both of the characters in the story and the reader, quickly growing and harnessing her newly discovered powers. She has a lot of responsibilty on her shoulders, tasked with being the saviour of her own kind, but takes that challenge in her stride and with her head held high. Harmony really lets you see into Amarah's mind throughout the book, meaning that you clearly can see what she thinks about everything happening around her and feel her feelings when discoveries are made about her life and fey family. Yes, sometimes Amarah can make mistakes, and maybe as a reader you question her judgement, but she's only human (... well not really, but you get what I mean!)
Now, let's move on to the romance in this book! I have a love/hate relationships with love triangles, because they torment me so much but I do kind of enjoy the slow burn and indecision of it all! Now, it was hard for me to choose between Andre and Logan, at different times I was rooting for them both. The spicy scenes with both men are written well But, I have to say, despite some surprise revelations, I am a team Logan girl!
I can't wait to read the next book, which I will do soon!
Death isn't what defines us. What defines us is how we live.
I first heard of this book when the author reached out to me. I read the synopsis and knew it was a book I definitely had to read! If you're looking for a Fae book filled with magic, werewolves, adventure, a just a dash of spice this one is for you!
Awaken was a great quick read. I loved the main character in Amarah. She is a strong role model many would look up to. Though she is thrust into the world of The Unseen, she doesn't hold back and wants to take every opportunity to help where she can. I loved watching her character arc soar, as well as watching her powers manifest into the powerful being she is.
Awaken has a great plot that unfolds as you read. The characters throughout the book have a dynamic that flows well with the story. I do wish there was more backstory to each of the characters, however seeing as this is a series we might get to see those in the upcoming books!
Be warned, this does end with a cliffhanger so make sure to have the next book ready! Overall I do recommend this book to fantasy lovers, it will hook you from page one.
Thank you to Harmony A. Haun for a copy of this book.
Okay!! firstly I absolutely enjoyed every detailing the author gave us be it emotions, world, people out there. That was wonderful. Coming to another best, Amarah. I love her name and her determination even though her world was turned upside down when she knows she is Fey warrior and a strongest one with more history to her. I liked how by the end she finally accepted who she was and came out strong.
Her connection with Logan, he is a werewolf with Fey force in him. I love them. There is complication to their relationship but the feeling is so real that it hits with so much more. The moment the meet, is what I would describe as sparks fly.
Taking their journey together with difficulties, the author has given a great plot and a story that will captivate you with wanting more. The characters are good with some shocking ones as well. There is alliance, betrayals, family, love, fey, vampires, werewolves. The writing is good just with extra detailing at places. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying this story and I totally recommend it.
Special thanks to the author for sending me an e-copy to read and honestly review! Awaken was a fun, fast-paced read that fit into all the parts of fantasy that I enjoy!✨
I’ve always been the greatest fan of a badass heroine and Amarah more than delivers in her role. She’s feisty, sharp-tongued and never takes no for an answer. She was a wonderful protagonist to follow the story through, even if we occasionally see her struggle to get used to the extent of her fascinating new strength.
The plot was very very intriguing too and after the first half of the book was done, it’s engaging and guaranteed to keep you on your toes. It has all the twists and turns it needs to have, and it’s exciting until the very end.
I found myself enjoying the love triangle and definitely picking sides though I can tell I am certainly going to be twisted in the next book. Both antagonists fighting for Amarah’s heart were special in their own way and managed to steal some of my heart too in the way.
All in all, a solid start to an urban fantasy series that has a lot of potential and a lot of promise. Perfect for fans of spicy, dark NA with juuuust a bit of wonderful banter. 4 stars⭐️
.The MC , Amarah, discovers she has a power that is needed in order to save her people. She’s been living as a normal adult until something happens and it unleashes who she really is. What she is and where she comes from is pretty awesome!
I enjoyed all the different characters. There’s also a love triangle that will have you feeling like Amarah, torn and confused on who she should pick.
There are a few hot and steamy scenes between Amarah and Logan and Amarah and Andre!🥵 Will you be team Logan or team Andre? Read and decide for yourself!
Looks can be deceiving for sure and in this story you read about characters that appear to be one thing or a certain way and they are completely different people once the truth comes out.
Great read and I look forward to reading @harmonyahaun ‘s next book!
Awaken is an adult, urban fantasy by Harmony A. Haun.
Amarah is struggling to find her place in the world, feeling like something is missing. Until the day Logan appears and tells her about war, magic, demons, Fey and more. Then he tells her that she has a connection to this magical part of their world and may be the key to saving it, changing her life forever.
Amarah is a badass fmc who is brutally honest and takes what she wants. When she learns of her place in this new life, she doesn't shy away from it, instead she jumps right in with both feet. Logan is there to help her learn about her role and all the magical creatures she is to encounter. He is super powerful and not bad to look at, making it difficult for her to focus!
There are so many side characters which can get very busy and chaotic but the author did a good job keeping it organized and well paced. Everyone had a part. There are multiple love interests and I must say that I was just as confused as the fmc lol. I liked and disliked the males the same time the fmc did. There was also a male that I had love for that I would like to see more of!!!! Can't wait to start book 2🥰
Love triangle Spicy Badass fmc Chosen one A male for everyone Magical creatures Magical elements Plot twists
“Every decision has an outcome. An action and a reaction. All we can do is hope we’re making the right decisions. Some are easier than others,”
Ok....so....what an ending, wasn't expecting that twist but part of me is hoping that there is another twist in there and if not then who the hell can we trust in this series apart from Amarah? 🙈😂
I loved Harmony's writing, the characters are well developed and super easy to keep up with. I'm really bad for forgetting characters and sitting so confused at a name, wondering when they appeared in the book🤦♀️😂 but that didn't happen in this book 😂 I loved seeing Amarah grow and taking charge. I now have another badass female added to fav female characters ❤️🔥
There are a few lines that I had a wee giggle at 🤭 and I have to say this is gonna be my new favourite saying throughout the hotter weather 😂 'You know, good ole humidititties. girl problems.' I absolutely love it 👌 it is totally spot on and every woman knows the struggles 🙈😂
I love the way Haun writes, she integrates popular modern day Culture references that have you laughing or screaming with acknowledgement. A lot of writers forget it's the little things that help us connect with the story and characters but not Haun.
I love Amarah's character so much. She is fiesty, firey and fierce. The three F's that every MC should be. I love how we see her learning and growing in the new world with her new powers, she doesn't find it easy and she struggles. She may not be human but she shows us it is okay to not be perfect.
There are twists and turns and new things coming to light throughout this book and I cannot wait to start book 2 and see where this series will take us.
Awaken by Harmony Haun has been the first fantasy read of mine besides Twilight. I honestly couldn't get enough of the characters and to learn everyone's story. Amarah has to be my favorite female lead role so far this year. Harmony keeps you guessing at every page turn and a bit of spice is there too!! I am so ecstatic that this is a series and can't wait to dive into book #2 for some more answers. Even if you aren't a fantasy reader I definitely suggest to grab this one quickly, you will devour it.
This was an interesting tale that had action, suspense, mystery and drama. The female lead’s character was strong and she had some mysteries and struggles to deal with. The male lead was a good match for her. Overall, I was entertained.
Let me start by saying fantasy isn’t usually my go to genre...I rarely read it. With that being said, I loved this book. I was nervous I wouldn’t enjoy it, but WOW was I wrong! I couldn’t put it down! I love Amarah’s character...normal human her whole life & then it gets turned upside down when she finds out she’s a Fey Warrior. She is a true badass with special powers. I mean, fighting demons and forming alliances with vampires kind of badass! I enjoyed how many powerful female characters this book has! But onto the two boys...you fall for Logan and want it to work out between him & Amarah, but then Andre comes waltzing in and you want it to work with him even more. This was a quick read & if you love the fantasy genre, then it is a must read!!!
This was such a fun modern fantasy and full of fast paced adventure. Amarah Rey is a total bad ass, strong female and she handles everything she’s thrown into with grit and a fiery attitude. This book has all the fantasy things we love: - Fey - Werewolves - Vampires - Chosen one - Female Hero - Love triangle - Battles And a lil spice too! 😉
This is my first 'modern fantasy' so it took me awhile to get use to the phones and cars, but I look forward to reading more modern fantasy. 🥰 Poor Amarah, she was literally thrown into the deep end. She never gets a break in her new, interesting life. It's one bad thing after another. I loved all the characters in this book, even the evil vampire ones.... Yes, i said evil vampire!!!! Andre has my whole heart. I absolutely adore him 🥰 Logan. Wow. A man who wakes up and makes you a coffee every morning. Yes please!! Amarah is a powerful but sensitive soul and I just love her. Plus she has the cutest little dog - Griffin 😍 I really don't get how Amarah can stay so calm with all these beautiful men around her 🤣 I'm really interested to see where Amarah ends up in the next book 'Fey Blood'.
If you like urban fantasy with vampires, werewolves, Fey with a bit of romance, this one is for you!
I really liked Amarah’s character. She is fierce, strong willed, and determined. Even though she was thrown into an impossible situation, where many responsibilities were now all upon her shoulders, she pushed through like a true warrior.
This was a fun read with just the right amount of action and drama. There is a love triangle which I am not the biggest fan of. However, I thought it was well done and I actually really liked both love interest equally. The relationship between Amarah and one of the love interest felt natural while the other felt fun and playful. I usually have a preference when there is a love triangle, but it was so hard to choose between them! They are both so great! And that ending.. Like what?? I did not expect that at all.
I don’t usually go for romance novels but this story with a strong female lead, vampires and werewolves, and magic… I couldn’t resist! Harmony is dedicated to her passion and it really makes her writing shine!
Little slow for me getting into the story, but once the action kicked in, I couldn’t put the book down! Great character relationship development and just exactly the right about of mystery/suspense to keep you reading. The magical Unseen world Harmony has created is vividly portrayed (my favorite part - I love world building) so it should come as no surprise that I’m very much looking forward to reading the next book of the series!
This book was EVERYTHING! It was fantasy, it was action, it was steamy. I absolutely LOVED it. New favorite series and I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd and 3rd book. Harmony is already working on the 4th and final book of this series and the 3rd hasn't been released yet. She's on a roll and so grateful for her sending me a copy of this book. What I really loved about this book is how relatable it felt even though it's fantasy. Amarah is just badass, but she's not perfect either. She struggles to grasp the idea of her new life. And what she must become. But her journey in this first book is just incredible. It also takes place in our world and present day. I got shadowhunter vibes from it. Which we all know is my favorite series. 😍 It's got werewolves, vampires, fey, demons, and more. But you'll have to read the series to find out for yourself. 😁 I highly recommend yall read this series. Another thing I like is Harmony did everything on her own with her books. The editing, the book cover, the whole process of it. On her own. It's raw, it's imperfectly perfect. Seriously don't sleep on these books, go check them out, you won't regret it. I promise. ❤️
disclaimer, harmony very kindly sent me this book but all thoughts are my own !
we alllll know i’m a sucker for ya fantasy, but i’ve been on such a ya fantasy binge recently, that reading a high fantasy book, but it’s about a fiesty, foul mouthed, 34 year old grown adult, with 0 filter, living in 2020 was so refreshing, and exactly what i needed.
‘awaken’ follows amarah who discovers at the age of 34 after unlocking her powers (and a very intense encounter with a male protagonist), that she is in fact fae, and with her powers fully unlocked will cease to age. it doesn’t stop there though, there’s werewolves, demons and vampires too so there’s never a dull moment !
‘the chosen one’ is one of my favourite tropes, but unfortunately it’s very rare for the protagonist to discover they’re the chosen one past the age of 16, max 18.
so i adore the idea harmony creates that your magic lies in wait until *you’re* ready for it! as a 23 year old who is yet to have anything magical happen in her life, the notion that there’s no time restraints, and things will come to you when *you’re* ready rather than the second you turn a certain age, really resonated with me.
(also century old fae dating newly 18 year olds kinda creeps me out so i felt much more comfortable with amarah’s relationships)
this book is so fast paced that you feel like you’re right there with amarah getting thrown into this whirlwind of a world, yet at no point did it feel overwhelming or too complicated or heavy.
and it’s kinda spicy and very tense!!! i don’t actually think i’ve read a book with spice in well over a year, everything’s been such big complicated worlds that take me days to get my head round, i just think this was a really fun, easy, read that i was so invested in and didn’t wanna put down!
Where do I begin with this review? Wow! From the very beginning, this story takes off on a speedway of action and excitement. There is no slowing down once it gets started. Amarah Rey is a normal young girl who has friends, a dog and a job. She is beginning to feel bored with her job and ready for something new. The “something new” is more than she bargained for!
She is thrust into this new life with powers and preternatural creatures that could only be out of a movie, but its not! This is her purpose and calling in life. We go through this new adventure with her and meet some wonderfully constructed characters, a few of which are men who seem to all like her making things a bit complicated, but rather exciting.
This story has it all; fun, fantasy, romance, humor, anticipation. I am thoroughly impressed by this first time Indie novelist. I enjoyed this book so much. I am not normally a fantasy reader but I think Harmony A. Haun has converted me with this book!
Okay, hold the phone. Or, whatever that saying is. I read this damn book in two days (only because I have a job and couldn’t sit down to read for the whole day). This damn book was so good!
Our MC is a sassy mouthed, 30-something, chick named Amarah Rey. Can I tell you how good it felt to read an urban fantasy that was about someone in their 30s? Amarah goes on the discovery of a lifetime learning that her 34 years of life wasn’t what it seemed. She isn’t who she thought.
Not only are we blessed with Amarah as our MC, but we have several male love interests that keep your mouth watering throughout. This is definitely an 18+ book, but oh my! This was a great read. I cannot wait to read the second book and then the third!
Harmony, this was the bomb. You did such a great job and I’m amazed that this was your first book.
Come on friends, let’s support our indie authors!!
