Elen and the Water Goblin
Elen is thrown into unsettling events when she decides to search for a cure for her father. A crafty Water Goblin is awaiting her arrival and she falls prey to his wicked plans. On her quest she meets the Forest Queen (an ancient tree), is befriended by Red the squirrel and is attacked by a wolf. But, besides all the obstacles she has to overcome, Elen uncovers a surprising secret. What is the secret? Does anyone else know it? And will she be in time to cure her father?

Captivating story for children!
The story is absorbing and captures your attention from the opening scene. It provides an interesting and detailed insight into an imaginary forest, its talking animal and tree inhabitants, and a legendary Water Goblin. The protagonist, Elen, on a quest to find a rare flower to cure her father, is adorable.
The writer jumps around from first to third person points of view seemingly randomly. In the middle of a first person narrative, we are suddenly told what another character is thinking. The author also switches tenses quite a bit. Nevertheless, children will enjoy reading this story! With the honing of her writing and literary skills, especially in the next book of the series, I can see this author doing really well.

Great storyline
I really enjoyed how easy it was to follow the storyline as there were clear breaks after a good amount of interactions between the groups of characters happened. And it was usually just the narrator showing the reader what was happening in the same event just with the second group of characters. I really loved how the author implemented lessons about right and wrong throughout the story. Ex, Talking about how killing is not right, but sometimes necessary. But one should never want to kill just to do the act of killing that is wrong. I did question the length of the chapters though since it is rated for a 8-10 yr old. The rating might want to be rated for 10-12 instead. But it was still a great read.

Elen and the Water Goblin is an extraordinary tale about a young girl struggling to find a cure for her father's illness. Her mother passes, and now she had to find the cure. She knows the magic potion is a flower in the forest, so she sets out to find it.
There is a cast of friendly and willing characters to help her on this quest to find the flower, but the wicked Water Goblin tries to block them at every chance.
This story is full of dark magic, friendship, love, fighting, spying, evil, and many twists and turns to name a few themes.
Read this powerful story to see how good wins over evil and this is not the end. There is more to come.

This adventurous, suspenseful story is a page turner for sure! With only a fortnight to go Elen sets off to find a cure for her father. What the girl didn’t know, before her mission, was that something frightful lurked down deep in the woods and he was seeking vengeance for how he was treated many years before. This book is full of adventure, suspense and magic! I couldn’t put it down! I needed to know if she would regain her memory, find her heart and save her father! What an ending it was! Definitely worth the read!

Excellent read!
The first thing I liked about this well-written, imaginative tale was the brief backstory about the generations-old myth about a (goblin) green man living in the ponds of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. From then on, a creative, wondrous, intriguing story awaits! Highly recommend if you love fairytales & folklore. Five stars.

Elen's adventure
This book is an interesting read of fantasy and love and more. It kept me curious to find out what will happen next. A magical world, a village, and a pond with its various creatures. The author also has included mystery into this story making you want to want to know more about the characters. The book leaves you wanting to find out what will happen next.

A Magical, mythical and adventure!
A great read for those who love adventure but with a magical and mythical focus too. I enjoyed reading this story and was hooked by the characters and exciting plot to seek revenge too. I'm certain that children will also love this book and find it engaging too. A recommended read for older children.

Wonderful Fairytale. Destined to be a classic.
Elon and the Water Goblin has all of the elements found in a classic fairytale that lives through the ages. Well written, spectacular imagery and wonderful character development, this book was a page turner and I am looking forward to reading the next book

Best book I’ve read in a while
As a lover of all things nature, I’m glad I purchased this book. The water goblin was a very interesting character, and had to be my favorite. I cannot wait to read this author’s next book. Definitely recommend!

Imaginative!

A nice magical tale
A sweet story about a girl who goes looking for a cure to help her father. Being captured by a water goblin, the girl makes lots of new friends in the forest, and these friends help her to escape. I look forward to reading the next book.

Magical
A magical mystery about a water goblin in an underwater castle. The goblin had no choice but to escape to his aquatic land after he was exiled by humans, that was until Elen came along in efforts to save her father. Thrilling read!

Wonderful story of love, kindness , determination and courage. Elen's father is ill and needs a special flower only grown in the forest. The story is absorbing and captures your attention from start to end. This book is full of adventure, suspense and magic. I enjoyed reading this story!

This stunningly real and beautiful tale about a well crafted MC named Elen is chock full of adventure and suspense. There is an existential je ne sais quoi about the writing that makes the reader reconsider those things they hold true.

Adventurous story!
“Elen and the Water Hoblet” is an intriguing tale of mystery and magic, when a girl wanders into a Forest. Very creative characters and a fun table to read! The story drew me in from the beginning. Great job!
