Dark and Dangerous
This book is amazing but it’s also quite dark so if you don’t like violence please don’t read. Our FMC Lake is a tortured soul, trying to make a life for herself after living thru some truly terrible experiences.
Keenan is the one who keeps her sane and out of the clutches of darkness, they both have such a caring relationship, Lake looking after him initially but now it works both ways.
Mason is a force of nature, love how obsessed he is with her, definitely not used to having to chase women.
That ending tho, really hope everyone survives the reappearance of Drakon.
A fantastic fast paced read, really enjoyed it.

As a 31 year old woman that still loves to shop at Hot Topic, I can say with confidence Lake is the woman any teenager that shopped at Hot Topic hoped to grow up to be 🐍🌑🔪⛓️💀🪦
Lake isn’t a damsel in distress, she saves herself, others, stays calm under pressure, makes all the plans, and has grown men terrified of her. She doesn’t need a prince charming to “save” her.
But boy do I love Mason.
I enjoyed that he’s an equal partner instead of her hero.
He doesn’t ask her to change who she is, he just holds her hand along the way of her journey.
Lake also is different in that she has a love for snakes, so any snake owner will appreciate that she has the love and care for them like any pet owner would a typical dog or cat. (However my reaction to them would be more like Mason’s when he first meets her “baby” Congo ngl 😂)
If you enjoy dark romance, mafia themes, serpents, badass female main characters, character development/redemption arcs, Lake’s Reign is for you 🖤

Wow just wow this book made me so emotional i literally felt everything . Good job A.E.D love everything can't wait for the rest of the Books

Trying too hard for dark romance …
This book felt like the author was trying too hard. This book was recommended in a fb group as a bad a$$ h and an equally domineering H. I was intrigued. The blurb made it seem like h was mafia of some sort building her reputation and H saw her and wanted her. Threatening her kingdom. That is NOT how the book is. Throughout the entire book the author uses too many descriptive words. “My jet black hair to match my soul”. “Black is the only color I’ve come to love because of my past”. Couldn’t get more cheesy cliched. Total turn off on the book. H/h relationship as well felt like it was forced. “Who know someone asking my name would be me falling in love?” REALLY?! Keenan made this book hands down. I won’t be reading the second. I dont feel like being child talked into how everyone looks and why they’ll tear the world apart.

This book was went from 0 to 100% from the first page and I finished in 6 hours I need more books like this one! This is a dark book i do recommend checking trigger warnings first, but you'll not be disappointed by the roller-coaster of event's. Lake is a female assassin who is bad*ss who has been through a lot. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 .
