The Lesvos Island collection is a series of standalone romances set, as the name suggests, on the beautiful Greek island of Lesvos. Eye of the Storm is the third installment and the first book I've read by this author. I've been to Skala Eressos on Lesbos twice on vacation myself, and this book refreshed my memories of great beach vacations with gorgeous sunsets.
After losing the most important person in her life, and still trapped in the same mire of grief and guilt two years later, doctor Pat Richardson-Rose decides to take some time off on the Greek island of Lesvos to get out of her funk. Robin Pérez just wanted to vacation in Skala Eressos, but many abandoned or neglected animals had grabbed her heart and wouldn't let her go. Together with her good friends, she renovated an old empty barn and built an animal rescue and recovery center. Biggest risk? That one day the real owner shows up and wants to evict them. But hey, no risk, no fun.
Pat is totally caught on the wrong foot when fierce, sassy, and attractive Robin awakens feelings in her that have been in deep sleep for two years. This is confusing her in her state of grief and guilt. She is overwhelmed and doesn't know how to handle it. Robin, on the other hand, is caught off guard by her attraction to the difficult and bitchy landowner. Their romance is a fierce push and pulls, with barely a second to relax. For me, it was a bit too much, the constant back and forth was tiring.
The characters were an interesting group of women. Robin and her friends have accomplished a lot together. But, it's not all sunshine and the group has to deal with the question of whether everyone really has the same goal with the animal shelter. The dynamic and drive in this group of friends is palpable and well developed and even though I didn't like them all equally, they are a cool bunch.
The story of Pat is gripping your heart and made me cry. Grief is exhausting, but guilt is a dangerous guy who keeps you like a warden in his prison. And often it takes a lot to convince you otherwise so that you can start your life again.
The flow of the story was a little bit bumpy, because of the jumping from one to the other POV (both MCs) a bit too often and it wasn't always easy to see who was in charge now. Otherwise, it's an entertaining story with some tough subjects like loss, grief, and guilt, but also about friendship, family, accepting help, starting over, and finding love at an unexpected time and place.

Lovely Emotional Story
Pat is taking a break following traumatic events that changed her perfect life in the US. Arriving in Skala Eressos she instantly runs into Robin, a woman who had her life changed when she had come to the Greek island for a holiday. Robin’s animal rescue just happens to be on land owned by Pat’s family, which instantly causes tension between them until one day, they both end up reliant on one another when situations take a hard and emotional turn.
A very lovely, sweet story, filled with drama, angst, and conflict. So many moments in this story were highly charged or highly emotional that I instantly felt a connection to Pat and Robin, and their situations. The premise of what would bring them together and establish a connection was wonderful but whenever animals are involved you just can’t help but feel overwhelmed with emotion.
Both Robin and Pat were such admirable characters. Kind people who were wary of being hurt, or having their kindness compromised by ethics. It was easy to feel emotionally connected to both of them upon first meeting, especially with the snippets into Pat’s past that help to explain her slightly hostile attitude towards Robin when they first meet.
I really enjoyed the story and the element of working together in emergency situations. Hopefully there will be more stories that involve Pat and Robin in future as I think a lot of exciting adventure awaits them.

Eye of the storm sets the stage for an unusual plot right from the beginning it takes the reader a moment to see, that the lightness, that seems to take over from the initial scene leads to something that shows more of the Sam Skyborn, who wrote Risk … In fact the book has all elements to satisfy a demanding wlw novel reader like myself. The charged like lightning electricity between the two main ladies, the background mystery, the various and interesting cast of other characters, everything is there and well written to boot.
Five stars for a great reading experience, thanks, Sam for the arc.

Give me a story where women save animals and I’m there. Skyborne has another winning story from the Island of Lesvos. I mean, who wouldn’t love to live on an island named Lesvos! That aside, I think this is my favorite of her stories based on Lesvos, because of the story itself and the characters.
I had some trouble with scenes that were centered around the American character or located in the U.S. but used U.K. English terminology. It seemed as odd to me as it would if an American author had a character from the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or Canada use American English terminology for things. Although it was strange, the thing is, I don’t think it took anything away from the story itself.
The story has a balance of conflict and angst with humour, redemption, friendship, and love. Just sayin’.

Sweet Story!
Loved this book! It had a bit of everything you need for a sweet romantic story. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming. Pat, after suffering a tremendous loss and carrying a burden of guilt, leaves her hospital where she is a doctor, to go to Greece where her family land is, to find herself. Robin, who came to Greece with the intention of going back to school, gets involved in pet rescues and basically invades a deserted barn, redoes it to fit items to help with maintaining a vet non profit. When the two come face to face in a not so great situation. Sparks fly. But the chemistry between them is so deep and electric that neither can stop thinking about each other. But both have complicated lives. The writing was perfect. The characters were enjoyable. The outcome was exciting. This is a must read.

This is a sweet love story entwined with drama and tragedy. I found the book fun and easy to read. There were many twists and turns built into the plot which made it very interesting. Both Sam and Robin are prone to jump to conclusions which makes the story interesting. The author makes a good effort to keep the reader's interest and succeeds. Sam is Obstetric doctor while Robin runs and animal shelter/ Circumstances led them to meet on a Greek island and the story begins. I recommend this book for romance readers.

A relationship that started as “enemies” and disliking each other develops into a more kind one.
Even though you can read this book as a standalone, it is always nice to see characters from other stories.

An enthralling book, stand alone or the final in a fantastic trilogy
Having read all three of the Lesvos Island Collection, I can honestly say what a fabulous trilogy of intelligent, erotic and absorbing lesbian romance novels it is and the third and final book, ‘Eye Of The Storm’ certainly does not disappoint, rather delights and enthrals. It can also happily stand alone as can all three books in the Collection. Whether you have already taken the little town of Skala Eressos into your heart or are unfamiliar with its charming streets, you will soon be right there, all your senses reached, feeling the heat and tasting its many flavours.
Being the great writer Sam is, the characters are full bodied and really pop into life, some familiar from the previous two books, and the plot twists and winds and keeps us turning the pages. Animal lovers will delight in the animal theme that runs throughout. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

love a well written romance and this one certainly is. I love the suspenseful flow of this book. It keeps you wondering how each character got to the specific place they are in at the moment. Throughout the book you are left on the edge of your seat wondering what will transpire next. Just when you think you've got everything figured out...you're hit with another curve ball. It really is a beautiful story. Once you start reading it will be impossible to put it down. It's Sam's best yet!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel! It was definitely a pleasure to immerse myself in the wonderful world of Greek island life created by Sam Skyborne. I loved the character development and the tree climbing goats!

Escaping to the island of Lesbos in Greece is an ideal place for healing after a tragedy. But what to do with the squatters on your land. Sam Skyborne builds the characters so well . Cant wait to read the next one
