The 2022 Midterms are upon us, and the seemingly perpetual campaign cycles have many people vacillating between disengaged, overwhelmed, or straight up muh-f’n tired! Gold star, if you are none of those mentioned above, fired up and ready to go.
Between juggling work, kids, balancing the bank account, and trying to dodge COVID-19 (and now Monkeypox, WTF?!), it is hard to know what you need to know this election season and make the time to figure it out. Until now- enter the Long and Short of It Guide to the 2022 Midterms (LSG).
The LSG series will guide you through the most important races of the 2022 Midterms in a cut-through-the-noise and concise way. I recognize that ain’t nobody got time to spend hours sifting through websites, listening to talking-heads, and watching debates to find out what the candidates stand for, so I’ve done it for you. Just look at me as your political concierge to guide you through the 2022 political landscape.
But let me tell you what the LSG is neutral, encyclopedic, or your traditional, straight-laced monotonal guide. If you’re looking for equal parts pros and cons- this ain’t it. If you want a comprehensive guide of every candidate's biographical and campaign details, this ain’t it. And if you couldn’t tell already by my diction, if you’re looking for an academic communication style, this ain’t it. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to become more informed and conversant on the issues and the candidates, then you are in the right place.
The Radical Republicans guide highlights candidates (listed below) in key competitive statewide races. The “Long Story Short” section provides a one-paragraph summary of the candidate. The “Long and Short of It” section provides the highlights (more accurately- lowlights) on a wide range of the most critical topics and implications of each candidate. In the “More Republican Races You Should Know About” section, a Long Story Short is provided for the Republicans in the not-as-competitive races. So if you’re ready for a guide unlike anything you've ever experienced before, LFG!

I loved all the jammed information that was presented. Reecie provided enough faced filled information for us to rely on for the 2022 - 2024 elections.
Whether you are a legitimate campaign staffer working against someone listed in this book, a volunteer leader, an occasional volunteer, a member of a grassroots outreach group, or just someone looking to become more informed about Republicans in various political races, you need this book (and any future ones in the series). As both a long-time supporter of Reecie’s continued success and as a volunteer lead who has worked on several races in previous cycles AND WHO IS CURRENTLY DOING SO for 2022, this book is everything as advertised. As I type this review I am currently assisting against multiple Republicans in this book. “If you are looking for a quick and easy way to become more informed and conversant on the issues and the candidates, then you are in the right place.” is absolutely correct. While it is not encyclopedic as Reecie openly says in the description, it is damning and cuts right to the heart of radical Republicans, the harmful policies they support, and the rhetoric they have directly used and emboldened. The summarized intro sections are great segues for the specialized sections that get into more detailed policy specifics. It is all concise, easy to follow, and additionally the references cited are a great launching pad for those of you who want to look up even more. Due to the extremely specific nature of how I volunteer (I primarily assist with candidate texting programs and help in answering policy-based questions other volunteers have), some of this was not as new to me as it may be for others where candidates I directly volunteer against are concerned; but the info on every other Republican with a detailed profile and most under the “More Republican Races You Should Know About” were full of damning info I was unfamiliar with in many cases. It’s a quick, easy, and extremely informative read. If you are already familiar with Reecie’s other work and appearances, you will love this book. If you’re new and considering getting this: don’t hesitate, stop reading this review, and add it to your cart.
