A year ago, Lizzy woke up in Cardiff, gravely injured and surrounded by strangers. After realizing that she had no memory of her past, her future appeared bleak – and hopeless.
Until she found she was with child.
Knowing she had to fight on for her child, she recovered and learned to mother her baby, Jane, without the benefit of a family – or her memories.
However, without an explanation for her condition or a respectable father for her daughter, she’s all but an outcast and nobody will give her a chance.
That’s until a sickly lady arrives in town and hires her as a maid.
Determined not to squander this chance, she set out to impress her new employer – but when she meets her new mistress’s husband, she’s thunderstruck.
Something about him is familiar, and soon she flooded by feelings so unexpected and shocking, she fears her entire future might slip away from her once more.
Can Lizzy resist her attraction to the mysterious Mr. Darcy? Or could it be that this handsome stranger holds the key to unlocking the mystery of her lost past?
Lizzy's Secret Baby is a sensual romance featuring Our Dear Couple. It is over 55 000 words long and might have you reaching for your smelling salts!
Elizabeth finds herself pregnant in Cardif Wales with no memory of her life but her first name. Luckily, the local vicar and his wife have welcomed her into their lives, but it appears no one is looking for her. Fitzwilliam Darcy is married as a result of a compromise that he doesn’t remember. As he and his wife travel to Cardif for her health, he meets and feels a strange connection to Elizabeth. As they unravel the situation our dear couple does find their happily ever after.
All that said the book has inconsistencies with Regency customs and attitudes. It goes from clean to mature in the blink of an eye. There seem to be plot sub stories that may not have been scrubbed out completely. Also, the angst in the story is resolved too quickly for my liking.
A lot of amnesia in this one. It’s a pretty wild ride including Mr Darcy being drugged into amnesia (and being horny) and Elizabeth being beaten into amnesia.
Points to the author because I did finish it but it definitely needs an editor. Mistakes and modern language abounds.
After looking the my copious notes I deducted a star. Darcy is extremely dense. I mean, box of rocks level dense.
