I've never been good at math. This book helped me understand the anxiety I feel when faced with math problems. It also helped me understand why I have the anxiety in the first place.

When learning arithmetic in elementary school, and more advanced mathematics in junior high and high school, I was never taught the mechanics behind the methods. I was taught, "learn the methods" and get the right answers. Without knowing why the methods work, I've always been a good bit behind in math.

Now, I'm starting to learn the why the methods work and math is growing more manageable for me.
