Officer Robert "Bubba" Montgomery has a reputation of being crass, misogynistic and offensive when it comes to women and people of color. His rude and unbecoming behavior has caused a strained relationship with one of his best friends and partner. Bubba didn't see a problem with his behavior or attitude because that's the way he was raised in his small, southern Georgia town. After a certain set of events within his family, he started to reflect on his behavior. As if the events weren't enough, he met Carmen Smith. He knew if he was going to pursue her, he would have to dig deeper to change his thought process.

Carmen Smith loved her career in a predominately male field. She worked long hours and hardly had time to do much of anything else. Dating was not on her radar. That is until she met Officer Robert Montgomery. While he was handsome, he wasn't someone she would initially find attractive. His crass attitude infuriated her.

Will Bubba and Carmen be able to put their small thinking aside and explore the possibility of something more? Or will their differences keep them in their boxes?
