Well, I'm clearly biased towards this book because I recently had a discussion with Bill, which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xc14... . But the reason I had the discussion in the first place is because this book is amazing! It's not only a great introduction to Philosophy of CS, but I dare say to Philosophy in general! This is especially true if you're a computer scientist or programmer. Currently, it's one of the very few authoritative sources on the subject, which is why I think it will become a classic.

Kitabı hakkını vererek okumadığım için beş yıldız veriyorum. Doğru şekilde okusaydım bitmezdi.
Kitap felsefe dersi gibi yürüyor. Önce kullanılacak felsefi metotlar tanıtılıyor. Sonra da sorular başlıyor. O nedir, bu nedir, bu şeyler nelerden oluşur, nasıl olur, niye öyle ya da böyledir gibi bir sürü soru. Tabii ki hiçbir sorunun basit bir cevabı yok ve çoğunlukla tek bir cevabı da yok.
Diğer filozofların, bilim insanlarının, mühendislerinin bu sorulara verdikleri cevaplar da kitabın içeriğini oluşturuyor. Her bölümde okuyucu için hazırlanmış sorular da var. Bazıları üzerinde düşündüm ama çoğunu geçtim. Umarım ileride bu sorulara dönme fırsatı bulurum.
Kitap, şu an en güncel konular olan yapay zeka üzerine biraz konuşuyor ama çoğunlukla daha temel sorulara eğiliyor. Kitabın ortasından itibaren Turing machine kavramı bize her alanda eşlik etmeye başlıyor, yani kitabı anlamak için az da olsa biraz teknik altyapıya ihtiyaç var. Teknik altyapı dediysem, basitçe bir algoritmik düşünme yeteneği tamamen yeterli aslında, bunun üzerine bir iki terim, kavram eklenince oluyor ve bu kavramlar kitapta dipnotlarla, kutucuklarla ve şekillerle açıklanıyor.
Sonunda yazar bu sorulara kendi cevabını veriyor ama kitabın amacı böyle bir cevap vermek değil aslında. Herkesin kendi cevabını verebilmesi için ihtiyacı olacağı altyapıyı ve araçları hazırlayıp sunmak. Bu konuda çok başarılı olduğunu söyleyebilirim.
