Mateo, a young man forced to quit school and enter the workforce by the deaths of his parents, finds an unusual stray cat on the way home one evening. Little does he know that the simple act of sheltering it for the night will shatter his worldview. Magic meets old friends meets choices, Mateo must now contemplate what sort of person he is meant to grow into: will he be the same Mateo, treading ground and comfortable with the way things are, or will be someone new—kicking and screaming into a future he may not be ready for. A Drop in the Motion, the final work from award-winning author Dwale (“Behest”, “The Darkness of Dead Stars”), is a story about dreams, childhood, and the loss of innocence, relevant for anyone unsure of their place in their world and whether it is time to put away the toys of childhood forever.
