A fun, amusing, and at times even touching story for learners of Italian. If you have some beginner’s knowledge, give this book a try! If you are starting from zero this book will be too difficult, but if you have basic “foundational” vocabulary and understanding of some simple grammar you will most likely be able to read and enjoy this. This is the very first book in Italian I was able to read all the way through. It was an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience.

Good but

This is a pretty good book to learn Italian. I can't give it 5 stars for 2 reasons. The main one is that new words aren't repeated often enough to make a lasting memory. The second reason is that the story, which starts well, becomes utterly unbelievable in the last third.

interesting read and challenging

I am about A2 level in Italian and although the ending in this book was a bit too wrapped up, it had some nice plot twists and unexpected language. I appreciated the new vocabulary in boldface and reading it on a Kindle app helped me look up some of the words easily.

This took me a long time to work through but I enjoyed it. It has been interesting how my abilities have improved over the past few months while trying to read this.

The story doesn't make much sense, the production is on the sloppy side, (poor choice of font, some formatting issues), but that doesn't matter much. I read and understood everything, learned new words and felt good about everything. Mission accomplished. Beginner level, not too complicated grammar and words repeated throughout for better learning.
