An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn

Rate this book
Two sisters. Two stories. One great Amish Christmas read.

Orphaned just weeks before Christmas, the Beiler sisters suddenly discover they could lose their home and what’s worse—each other. To make ends meet, sisters Sadie and Katie are plunged into working at the Willow Spring’s Apple Blossom Inn.

But will their efforts be enough?

Sadie - Struggling with pride, Sadie yearns to bake scrumptious treats in the inn’s kitchen instead of cleaning floors and toilets. But when she makes the mistake of her life, can Sadie and the inn’s handsome maintenance worker Jubal King create a plan to help save her family and maybe even the Apple Blossom Inn?

Katie - On the cusp of a family tragedy, Katie must put her trust in the Lord and step into a mostly English world. When Jeremiah Hershberger returns to Willow Springs looking for answers, Katie sets out on a journey to help him discover secrets of his past.

Can these young women find a way to bring the joy of Christmas back to their family and to Willow Springs?

I’m a country girl at heart, an author, a homesteader, and a lover of all things simple living. My passion lies in capturing the essence of the simpler side of life, much like the one I enjoyed growing up in rural Pennsylvania.

My life has always been intricately linked with Amish culture, and it’s only fitting that I have a deep, genuine love for their simplicity, sense of community, and God-centered way of living.

Growing up in Northwest Pennsylvania, I spent my childhood immersed in the heart of Amish Country. The rhythmic clip-clop of horse and buggies was my morning soundtrack as Amish men journeyed past my home to work. A pivotal moment in my young life was shaped by a tragic Amish murder, a story detailed in “Crimson Stain” by Jim Fisher. Jake, a key figure in that true story, was my uncle.

Now residing in South Carolina, my family and I frequently travel through the Amish regions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. These journeys are not just visits but research expeditions. I take pride in writing Amish fiction that authentically represents their culture, thanks to the invaluable insights from friends within these communities.

If the Amish lifestyle fascinates you, join me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and check back here often for new short stories and updates on upcoming book releases. Together, let’s explore the serene and captivating world of the Amish.

Tracy Fredrychowski and Debra Torres penned two engaging stories from the beginning to the end. These two Amish Christmas tales are heartwarming providing the readers a glimpse of how family, faith, hope, love and peace can be found in the midst difficult situations when God is in their lives.

Sadie and Katie working at the Apple Blossom Inn gave way to ups and downs they endured with the grumpy owner. But their dedication to family and God made a way for others to see the beauty and message of Christmas, as well as Sadie and Katie find answers for their own lives and their sisters.

A big thank you to the authors for an advance e-copy of this book without any obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed my own thoughts.
I highly recommend Tracy Fredrychowski and Debra Torres Amish fiction tales as they are penned with love and showing God’s redemption plan is for each one.

I so enjoyed this book! It was good from the first page till the last page! I loved the way the characters all interacted and I loved Jubel! He seemed like the perfect guy. The storyline was full of activity and there were no drawn-out parts. It was an enjoyable page turner book! I loved the family togetherness, despite their loss of parents. And I loved how they worked together after a bad incident at the inn. Two sisters share their tale and authors, Tracy and Debra just can't stop now! They are on a roll!
I have read books from both of these talented authors. But to put their heads together on one book could be both a blessing and a challenge. I loved how they combined their talents and came up with an absolutely delightful book.

I highly recommend this book which I received as a complimentary ARC copy. All thoughts are my own.

Firstly, my thanks to Tracy Fredrychowski for my ARC of this wonderful book. I loved this book from beginning to end. I especially liked that the two stories complemented each other. Same story but from two differing points of view and yet they were similar but not alike. Debra Torres and Tracy worked amazingly well together. Both stories had the same unbelievably awesome characters. The writing was so interchangeable in a positive way that I sometimes wonder if the two authors wrote parts of each story. The setting, the charm, the inspiration, the guidance and everything we could learn about Amish life was described in an excellent narrative and dialogue. So many chuckle moments in both stories and yes, tear jerking, heartstring pulling moments again all admirably written. There wasn't anything I really didn't like with the exception of the characters we were expected not to like and there were only one or two of these. The Inn sounded delightful and I would absolutely love to stay somewhere just like it any time of the year. If you are a fan of Amish fiction please, please please add this to your Want to Read list and put it right at the top. If you are new to the genre oh what a treat you will be in for if you commence your Amish journey with this outstanding book. Again thank you to Tracy Fredrychowski for my copy of this book which I know will be read again in the future. I look forward to reading more from Debra Torres as this was my first sampling of her writing.

This was a wonderful book written by 2 great authors. 2 sisters were orphaned just weeks before Christmas, and had to do something so they don't loose their home.
The girls went to work at the Willow Springs Apple Blossom Inn.
Both girls are totally different than the other. Between these girls, can they save the house and still have faith in God.. I was given an early ARC for my honest review.. these are my own words and I would recommend this to anyone..

I really enjoyed this collaboration from Debra Torres and Tracy Fredrychowski. Each author wrote a story about different sisters from the same family. I would definitely read more if this were made into a series and I recommend it if you enjoy Amish fiction. Don't wait until next Christmas to read it. It can be enjoyed any time of year.

This is an exceptional book, I have grown to really like these two authors because they both write with passion and that shoes as you read these story.
This is a two in one book with each author taking one sister’s story. I loved both stories and every character. Deep faith, compassion and true love for family is very evident in both sisters story, and as you read them you will realize that through that love and faith all things are possible.
Katie and Sadie will warm your heart, pick up a copy and enjoy these heartfelt characters walk through their path in life. I highly recommend it!

Two stories in one book about eight sisters who are dealing with the deaths of both parents. Sadie and Katie stories are told in this book. Each story shows how the girls see the same events from their perspective. Themed around Christmas and the Apple Blossom Inn where the girls must work to provide for their family. Wonderful story and a great read. I finished the entire book in one sitting! I received an advanced author copy of the book.

This book is two stories about two Amish sisters who are a part of a family of 8 girls orphaned and trying to stay together as a family, against some odds. These two stories are basically about two of the girls, 16 and 17 years old who work at the Apple Blossom Inn alternating days to try to earn enough to keep the family afloat. The story about Sadie is by Debra Torres and the one about Katie is by Tracy Fredrychowski. Each story also includes some things about the rest of the girls and they are separate, but tied together (hope that makes sense - hard for me to put into words). Both girls have some difficulties with the owner of the inn and have to overcome those problems. I liked both stories and the messages they had about about faith and trusting in God. Especially about studying God's word and listening for God's voice in Katie's story by Tracy. Both stories are well written and I would recommend them to anyone who likes a good Amish book. I was fortunate to be selected by Tracy to read an advanced copy for my honest review, (I accidently applied to both Tracy and Debra for this opportunity and was chosen by both of them but could only do it for one. This review is for both of them!!)

Another great story by Tracy Fredrychowski and this time she is joined by Debra Torres. Both Tracy and Debra bring us back to the Apple Blossom Inn. Tracy tells us Sadie’s story while Debra tells us Katie’s. Katie and Sadie are sisters who after a tragedy in the family they both have to get jobs to help with the family’s finances while their oldest sister has to stay home to take care of the youngest children. Both sisters must learn to trust God and new friends in this story. I hope that we are brought back to The Apple Blossom Inn again the near future.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and all opinions and reviews are my honest opinion.

I love Tracy Fredrychowski’s books. The way she develops her characters with a compelling story is wonderful. Usually, her characters are struggling with some aspect of their faith which make them very easy to relate to. An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn is a collaboration with Debra Torres. Two powerful writers have written a wonderful Christmas story. This time two sisters are trying to help support their family by working at the Apple Blossom Inn. Can they overcome their struggle with pride? Will it be enough to support their family? If you love reading stories about the Amish and enjoy a good Christmas story, then An Amish Christmas at Apple Blossom Inn will be a book you will enjoy.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn by Tracy Fredrychowski, Debra Torres
An Amish Christmas Novel
Two sisters. Two stories. One great Amish Christmas read.
Orphaned just weeks before Christmas, the Beiler sisters suddenly discover they could lose their home and what’s worse—each other. To make ends meet, sisters Sadie and Katie are plunged into working at Willow Spring's Apple Blossom Inn.
But will their efforts be enough?
Sadie -Struggling with pride, Sadie yearns to bake scrumptious treats in the inn’s kitchen instead of cleaning floors and toilets. But when she makes the mistake of her life, can Sadie and the inn’s handsome maintenance worker Jubal King create a plan to help save her family and maybe even the Apple Blossom Inn?
Katie – On the cusp of a family tragedy, Katie must put her trust in the Lord and step into a mostly English world. When Jeremiah Hershberger returns to Willow Springs looking for answers, Katie sets out on a journey to help him discover secrets of his past.
Can these young women find a way to bring the joy of Christmas back to their family and to Willow Springs?
This is Amanda Beiler's story.
This is Sadie Beiler's story.
This is Katie Beiler's story.
This is Jubal King's story.
This is Jeremiah Hershberger's story.
The eldest sister, Amanda, quits her job at the Apple Blossom Inn to stay home and take care of the house and family.
Sadie and Katie, take over her job at the inn to provide the household income.
Sadie Beiler
The steady drum of ice pellets on my black umbrella matched the beat of my broken heart. As Mamm was lowered into the frozen ground, fear wrapped its tendrils around my insides, and my breathing grew shallow. I waited until a gap formed between the mourners gathered at the Willow Springs graveyard, big enough for someone my size to slip through. My body tensed, ready to bolt, when my sister Katie slipped her hand into mine and held tight. “Oh no, you don’t.” I stared straight ahead as the   torment raged inside of me. Three years earlier, we buried Datt after he fell to his death climbing our silo— an accident that should never have happened.
Sadie likes Jubal King, who worked at the Inn.
Jubal King
Jubal kept an eye on Sadie as much as possible whenever she worked. He could tell she was doing her best to make things appear like she was enjoying her job but was failing miserably. And after hearing what she had said outside last week, clearly, she didn’t want to be here. He had been employed as a maintenance worker at the inn for a good number of years, and he’d experienced how difficult Mrs. Sorensen could be to work for.
Katie Beile
Settling her eyes on the back of her eldest schwester’s head, she watched as Bishop Weaver moved to Amanda’s side. Lord, Amanda, Sadie, and I are older and have many stored-up memories. But what about the little ones? Will they remember the sound of her voice or the tenderness of her touch? I worry as they grow, the image of Mamm’s face will fade and eventually be lost to them forever.
Katie helps Jeremiah Hershberger after he returns to Willow Springs...
Jeremiah Hershberger
He sat back slowly. “Jeremiah Hershberger,” he said after a long minute.
Jeremiah glanced passed her. “You’re not leaving until I learn your name.” She relented. “Katie Beiler.” “Nice to meet you, Katie Beiler.” She nodded and pulled the door shut behind her and paused at the unexpected attraction to him.
I recommend this book.

The Beiler sisters have suffered substantial heartbreak in their young lives. After losing their father in a farming accident, moving from the family farm, and now losing their mother to illness, the 8 sisters must trust God as never before to provide for their needs and keep them together. At only 18, the eldest sister, Amanda, quits her job at the Apple Blossom Inn to stay home and care for the house and family. Her next 2 older sisters, Sadie and Katie, take over her job at the inn to provide the household income.
This book contains 2 parallel stories. The first is Sadie’s viewpoint by Debra Torres. Sadie is hired to clean the inn, but would rather be baking breakfast for its customers. When she is finally given the opportunity to do what she loves most, a horrible mistake costs her the job. With Christmas quickly approaching, and unsure how to make it right, Sadie is challenged by her best friend to pray about it and focus on God’s truths instead of her fears and guilt. As she does this, a solution unfolds beyond anything she could imagine on her own.
The second half of the book is Katie’s story by Tracy Fredrychowski. Although still grieving her mother’s death, Katie has learned not just to pray, but to be still and listen for God’s voice. She firmly believes God has a plan and will work everything for good, even though her sisters don’t see it yet. When a stranger comes to stay at the inn, Katie feels compelled to help him. Could he bring closure to a 10-year-old mystery that the community could never solve? And what part does the innkeeper, Mrs. Sorenson, have to play in it all? Christmas and a new year bring a fresh start for the sisters as God shows Himself faithful and resolves their seemingly impossible situation.
These 2 stories covering the same time period from different points of view worked very well together. Debra Torres and Tracy Fredrychowski have similar writing styles that provide a smooth transition between one story and the next. I have loved all of Tracy’s books and how they always point to Jesus, and now look forward to reading more by Debra also. This is a stand-alone novel that can be immediately picked up and enjoyed. However, Tracy has 2 other books that include more about the inn and those who run it. Love Blooms at the Apple Blossom Inn gives backstory for Mrs. Sorenson, Maggie, Henry, and Bella. The Amish Christmas Gift Worth Waiting For is the story of the Beiler sisters and Adam from Amanda’s perspective. I highly recommend all three books to lovers of clean Christian fiction that non only entertains, but encourages the reader spiritually.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn is a unique blending of two parallel stories by two separate authors. Each story has a bit of romance, a sweet message, likable characters, and yummy food, and I was invested in both of them. Sadie and Katie are different in personality, like most sisters, but they are alike enough that the transition between the two storylines never felt jarring. The authors did well in weaving hints from the other’s novella into their own, keeping me intrigued all the way through.

I was especially delighted to realize that, while I have not read most of Fredrychowski’s books set in Willow Springs, I have read the one that features Sadie & Katie’s older sister Amanda and her romance. The Amish Christmas Gift Worth Waiting For was part of the Amish Christmas Miracles collection and was one of my fave stories of the 14 included. It was great to be able to see ‘the rest of the story’, so to speak, and I highly recommend that you read that one before reading An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn – though it’s not strictly necessary. Also exciting was the chance to see characters from Torres’ Willow Brook series (which I really enjoy) show up in this collaboration, and I thought the way they were included was quite clever.

Bottom Line: Both authors give readers a taste of their own writing styles & series while seamlessly working together to create an overarching narrative that unites each separate story and entertains readers from start to finish. Sadie & Katie are engaging characters who face respective challenges with grace and strength, and even the grumpy proprietor of the Apple Blossom Inn isn’t left unaffected. Sweet romance and a gentle faith message that points to Jesus can be found in each story, and readers will find themselves tracking down the backlists of whichever author they hadn’t previously read. A lovely way to unwind from Christmas festivities!

When the Beiler sisters are orphaned, oldest sister Amanda struggles to keep both their house and their family together. To help out, sisters Sadie and Katie take jobs working at Willow Spring's Apple Blossom Inn but their work there won’t be easy.

Sadie by Debra Torres

Sadie knows she needs to help out her family but she would much rather be cooking at the Inn than cleaning it. While working there, she makes a huge mistake that costs her job and consequently may cost the family their home. With the help of Jubal King, the inn’s maintenance worker, Sadie tries to make things right and get her job back but is it too late?

Sadie’s story is a good one – she’s an interesting character – torn between her love of her family and her love of baking. Her character is flawed but quite believable – her mistake could have happened to anyone. I like the romance between her and Jubal – Torres take her time with it and it is well done.

Katie by Tracy Fredrychowski

Although she would much rather be home, Katie knows she has to work at the Apple Blossom Inn to keep the family together. She works hard there even if she is distracted by Jeremiah Hershberger, a guest at the Inn. Jeremiah has returned to Willow Springs to find some answers about his past and the more Katie gets to know him, the more she wants to help him find those answers.

Of the two, Katie’s was my favorite simply because of the storyline of Jeremiah’s past. It is a good one and I loved it as Fredrychowksi unveiled the secrets piece by piece. The storyline not only reveals Jeremiah’s past but that of Katie’s boss – very nicely done. The romance between Katie and Jeremiah is also nicely done, altogether a nice story.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn features not only the stories of two sisters but an entire family who are struggling to stay together. Nicely done by both authors!

I had the pleasure of reading this story. When I heard both authors were joining together for a book I was excited!!! I enjoy both of their stories and I knew this one would be great.

I enjoy how they always bring together the right amount of love, family, Faith and togetherness.
Two sisters and an amazing list of characters form this sweet heartfelt story with us. As they try to save the home they live with their 6 sisters, they work hard at the Inn despite the rude hard owner. But they are doing everything they can to bring Christmas back and mend their hearts as they are orphaned before Christmas. In Sadie's story, Jubal helps her save her home and work after she does something that cost her job. She loves baking. And there is nothing more that she would love to do all day then bake. Their story was sweet.

Katie, in her story has Jeremiah, he has a past and wants to find the pieces to it. I always enjoy detective work and this story was amazing. Detailing every piece of his past together. These two stories, one for each sister brings in reflection to stay strong in your Faith and never let go of God. I enjoy how both authors mend together their stories with an Inspirational touch. It was wonderful reading about the Inn, makes me want to travel to one and stay there, with snow and comfy of welcoming of good friends.

I want to thank both authors for these two stories in one, they entwined so well and smoothly to each other.

I received an e-copy of this story. All mentioned here are my own.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn by Tracy Fredrychowski and Debra Torres contains two sweet stories. The Beiler sisters have just lost their mother who was their last remaining parent. Amanda, the eldest sister, must now stay home to take care of the home and the younger siblings. It has been decided that Sadie and Katie will split their sister’s former job at the Apple Blossom Inn. Their salary will help pay for the mortgage on the house. We get to see the period following the mother’s funeral from Sadie and Katie’s point of view. I found both stories to be easy to read. I liked meeting the Beiler sisters. The stories focus on the Apple Blossom Inn, faith, a touch of romance, and Christmas. Thanks to her best friend Sadie faith is deepening plus she is getting a better understanding of the scriptures. Sadie is learning the power of prayer and giving her worries to God. Katie’s faith is strong. She knows that God will direct her where she should go. Katie has learned the importance of slowing down and allowing for quiet so she can hear God’s voice. I enjoyed the beautiful descriptions of the Apple Blossom Inn decorated for Christmas. Jeremiah’s story was especially touching. I like how it turned out plus we get to learn the reason behind Mrs. Sorenson’s attitude (the owner of the Apple Blossom Inn). Miracles do happen at Christmas as we see in Katie’s story. With faith, family, and love we see that anything is possible. An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn contains two heartwarming tales with distressed sisters, a bitter boss, a recipe catastrophe, a special keepsake, a nagging neighbor, and God’s guidance.

I have recieved an advanced reader copy of the book "An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn" for free. I am giving my honest opinion of the book.
I love how it tells how 3 older sisters struggle to keep all of the family together. First they lose their father in an accident and then their mother died a few yrs later. They have 5 younger sisters that one of the older Amish women is trying to take 3 of the younger ones for her granddaughter to adopt. Katie keeps praying that God will keep them all together. The oldest sister doesn't think that God is answering her prayers anymore. Katie and her other sister got a job part time at the Apple Blossom Inn part time. The lady that owns the Inn at the very end we find out that she was Amish and related to a young man that had been kidnapped by his father 10 yrs before. The father told them that the boy had died and had told the boy that his mother and grandfather had died. The owner of the Inn was able to reunite the 3 of them for Christmas. So was a very good ending. Just wish it went on to say weather Jeremiah and Katie get married and if Jeremiah fixed up grandpa's house to live in it. I hope they have a continuance of the story. Would be nice to know what happens to all of the other characters and does the the owner of the Inn become a better employer to work for. All in all was a great book to read.

Reading this book is the perfect way to usher in the upcoming Christmas season! Authors Tracy Fredrychowski and Debra Torres join together to give readers two touching stories that center around a grieving Amish family. The Beiler sisters are now orphans and Amanda has been thrust into the role of caring for her younger sisters. Both authors paint poignant pictures of these girls' many emotions, as they struggle with doubts, uncertainty, and grief, but there are also ample doses of faith, hope, and love! I loved that Sadie and Katie's jobs at the Apple Blossom Inn give the authors a chance to beautifully describe an inn that's been festively decorated for Christmas and to point out the differences between an English and an Amish Christmas. Sweet romances, a mystery concerning a missing Amish boy, and two Amish recipes add to this book's appeal. You may even get a glimpse of an Amish wedding!

If you enjoy Amish fiction and Christmas stories, grab a copy of An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn. There's also a reminder that God truly will see us through our trials. This is a book to enjoy and savor!

I received a digital copy from the authors. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn was such a fun read! This is the second book I've read by Debra Torres, and the first time I read anything by Tracy Fredrychowski. There were so many things I loved about this book. First of all, I was excited that they wrote this book together and that it has two stories in it that are interwoven. I loved seeing the map of the town, that was so helpful for me to envision everything as a reader. I also enjoyed the section at the beginning about Pennsylvania Dutch and having a glossary of words. They also included recipes at the end of the book, which is something I always enjoy!

Both authors did such a great job of making me feel like I was right there with the characters. I couldn't wait to see what going to happen in each chapter. If you love Christmas, or Amish Fiction, this book will not disappoint!

The only thing I didn't like as a reader was that three of the characters had very similar names.
I thought there could have been better choices made to make sure the character's names weren't so similar.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for free, and am giving my honest opinion of the book.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn by Debra Torres and Tracy Fredrychowski.

You will not be disappointed! From the moment I started reading An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn it was hard to put down.

A family is faced with a family tragedy and crisis that you and I could. Would we have the courage, strength, and faith to work with our own emotions and yet keep our family together? Just before Christmas Amanda, Katie and Sadie grieved quietly and pulled together and weathered the struggles together to support each other and keep the family a family.

I read An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn and I am writing my honest opinion after reading the Advanced Reader Copy. It is very nicely written clean novel so that a young adult can read. I will be purchasing An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn for my home library and happily sharing the book with family.

This book will make a great gift for the Christmas stockings, a birthday or just a book to enjoy reading any time of the year.

I will be waiting for the next book in the Apple Blossom Series.

Such a fun book by Tracy Fredrychoeski and Debra Torres. We get to follow two sisters, Sadie and Katie as they start working at the Apple Blossom Inn after a tragic event leaves them and their other sisters alone. The sisters start a job to help provide a living for their family. With the struggles of providing for their family and keeping everyone living together in light of the threat of a childless couple wanting to take the youngest children to raise. Mrs. Sorensen, the no nonsense, blunt owner of Apple Blossom Inn has reservations hiring the two sisters in the first place and after the girls learning to adjust to employment, their mishaps and mistakes leads her to firing one of the girls. Unfortunately, the information Mrs. Sorensen has wasn’t completely accurate. Come join Sadie, Katie and their friends as they prepare for An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn.

This book is written by two amazing authors, Debra Torres and Tracy Fredrychowski.

After losing their dad to a silo accident 3 years ago and having to bury their mom, the Beiler family consists of 8 daughters who must figure out how to maintain a steady income and help the family stay together. The owner of the Apple Blossom Inn decides to hire Katie and Sadie and they soon find out she is hard to work for. After Sadie is fired from making an honest mistake, the local busybody decides it is best to split up the family and let her granddaughter raise the youngest sisters. How will the family survive on one income and how can they prove they can keep the family together? I enjoyed reading the story from two different perspectives and how each sister soon realizes they must draw upon their faith and others. This book is definitely a must read.

All words and opinions are my own. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the authors for my honest review.

I have wanted to read An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn since it came out last year. I had read other things by Debra Torres, but this is my first book by Tracy Fredrychowski.

I had not realized that An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn was two novellas. The prologue sets the tone of the story. We are introduced to the characters at the funeral of their mother. The first story is Sadie's story, written by Debra Torres. The second story is her sister Katie's perspective, written by Tracy.

Both stories offer a hint of romance, what it's like to work at the Apple Blossom Inn, and how hard life is after their mother passes away. Especially with a busybody neighbor wanting to separate the family. There is enough content in both stories that I feel they would have been better as full-length novels, as opposed to the novellas. Sadie's story especially ended rather abruptly.

This book is both sad and uplifting at once!
Christmas at Apple Blossom Inn is a very good book to bring the true meaning of an Amish Christmas to light. Tracy Fredrychowski and Debra Torres came together to bring a story of a family in crisis from the points of view of two sisters Sadie and Katie. This book focuses on a single tragedy viewed separately from each sister.
This Amis family having already lost their mother yrs earlier, loses their father close to the holidays. Sadie and Katie have to start working to contribute to family income or they could lose their home and their family broken up. These two young women get a cleaning job at the Apple Blossom Inn run by a stern woman. Problems ensue for each girl. Will they pull themselves together, along with their older sisters, to avoid further losses?

This book contains two versions of the same family story, told by two orphaned sisters who go to work at the Apple Blossom Inn. The first is told from the perspective of Sadie Beiler, who loves to bake, and the second by Katie, who cultivates a personal relationship with the Lord even though many Amish discourage this. Both girls and their older sister, Amanda, face plenty of challenges, which stretch them and lead them to depend more fully on God. They also each find love interests. The characters seemed realistic and the plot intriguing. The first tale had a slow buildup, reading more like a young adult novel until it got into stronger conflict and a bit of suspense. I enjoyed the book. I received an advance copy from the authors. All opinions are my own.

This book consists of two sweet and beautiful heartwarming stories that truly reflect the true spirit of Christmas with its faith, redemption, joy and love. This is Sadie and Katie's stories, two sisters who go to work at the Apple Blossom Inn after the death of their parents in an effort to keep the family together. As each one struggles with the challenges of their position at the Inn they learn to lean more on God to help and guide them. While there are parts of each of their stories that are a bit sad, they overcome and truly "joy comes in the morning". The stories are page turners; and I know you will enjoy it as much as I did. I was given an ARC of this book, but my review is strictly my own

This is my first book by either author, and it won't be my last.
As an author myself, I enjoyed this engaging plot and characters to pull for. In this case, a family is orphaned at Christmas, and two older sisters must work at an inn to keep their home and to prevent their younger sisters from going to other homes. Unfortunately, the inn's owner seems quite the grouch. Fortunately, her character arc is complete by the end of the story.
I enjoyed the plot's tension and the inclusion of how some of the Amish community members were not very understanding of this family's plight, as it showed the human side of the Amish. I also enjoyed the romantic hints for some of the sisters.
Whether you enjoy Amish fiction or other fiction, I recommend this story.

I've come to enjoy the books of both of these authors. When I saw they were working together on this Christmas book I was excited to read it. It certainly did not disappoint.

Reading the two stories from the two different girls, Sadie and Katie, it was fun and easy to follow along. I become entrenched with their dilemmas and the way things turned out for both of them.

What a fantastic read for fans of Amish and of Christmas stories.

I highly recommend this book.
