A man after my own heart: on goat's cheese "I've never licked a filth-stained, concrete lined pig sty floor. But if I did, I'm convinced it would taste of goat's cheese". Or tomatoes:"As a child, I used to wander around my grandparent's vast, humid greenhouse, intoxicated by that lush, green smell of ripening tomatoes". Or Christmas pudding: "My misgiving about turkey pales into insignificance compared to my utter hatred of Christmas pudding. Even people who like this sullen, lumpen belly buster can only manage it once a year, which says something". Other parts of the book smack of his priveleged upbringing, which at times were a little hard to swallow (pun intended) but overall an entertaining read.
