Les Annees Folles. Le triomphe de l'Art moderne (1918-1939)

Rate this book
As a natural development after the publications on the Annees impressionnistes and the Annees de la Belle Epoque, this volume is devoted to the Annees Folles (1918-1939). This book invites you to discover the inter-war period, coloured by the triumph of modern art, in most diverse forms (Surrealism, Abstraction and Figuration). Presented in the form of an anthology, it considers all the great names of modern painting, as well as the major international currents. It combines the analysis of specific works with a study of group movements: Dada, Cercle et Carre, Bauhaus and Abstraction-Creation. The focus also encompasses the literary production of a time when the central figures of 20th century literature were emerging.
