I always loved art, making it my career. I never realized it would lead to my fated mate. When I’m offered a job and a few dates on an alien planet, I jump at the chance to see the galaxy. I don't expect to take the man that's been picked out for me seriously. Until I see Varma.
This alien isn’t just deadly. He’s dead smexy.
His forces protect Dragonia and he’s a warrior at heart. Cold. Dangerous. Quiet. When danger comes to his planet, this warrior will sacrifice everything for his people. But there’s one thing he will sacrifice even his planet for to protect.
Me.
Author's Note: This sci-fi romance is standalone and has no cheating as well as a guaranteed HEA!
Athena Storm is the pen name for two authors who fell in love with writing science fiction romance as they fell in love with each other.
She's the Athena. And he's the Storm. Athena hopes that one day it won't be a boyfriend/girlfriend writing duo, but a husband/wife team. But she's not pressuring at all. Not one bit.
Science fiction is the biggest love for the writing duo, and they've been doing the writing for quite some time now, building a universe that readers can get lost and explore in. Filled with big bad alien warriors, sassy human women who give as well as they get, hilarious situations, and enough steam to melt stars!
The duo have created the Athenaverse, where all books in all series are tied together. You can start anywhere but once you do, you'll want to explore them all!
When they get married, they plan to continue writing science fiction romance forever. But again, no pressure on the marrying part. Not at all. (Not like writing Happily Ever After ALL Day won't give you any ideas on its own, right?)
This is an OK sci-fi alien romance, but the H/h were frustrating at times. It gets 3 stars from me.
Varma was okay, but he kept his feelings very closed off, and had a really hard time sharing himself with Laura. If it had not been for advice he got from others, his inability to open up to Laura probably would have ruined their relationship.
At one point, Laura started avoiding Varma, simply because she couldn't believe that she might actually already be falling in love with him. She thought if she avoided him, she could confirm that it was just infatuation/lust, and not love. She didn't explain to him why she was avoiding him, though, so he had no idea what was wrong. I thought it was unfair of her to do that to Varma.
Both Laura and Kaze seemed to have anger management issues. I get that the intrusive drones (the mystery they eventually solve) were annoying, but both of them did dumb things when they got angry about the drones.
I also thought Laura was mostly in lust with Varma, not in love. It made sense that he would fall for her, because he knew she was his mate -- but she was human, and didn't understand the mate bond.
One complaint is that the story needed more character development. I wanted more backstory on both Varma and Laura.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

I really enjoyed this book and the main characters had me cheering for them. Varma is the weapons master of Dragonia and a warrior for the King who has set him up with match maker Sagasia because the king thinks he works to much and now he has been matched to the sexy and beautiful human Laura who is an artist. Laura is a human and an artist who has been asked by the Intergalactic match makers to do a painting of the Royal family on Dragonian and have a few dates while she is there and she agrees straight away to a adventure of a life time. When she meets the gorgeous and grumpy Varma outside at the party of the ballroom and so she is shocked at the connection and spark of desire she feels for him and the more time she spends with him the closer the get. Varma is intrigued by the human that he was told to fake being interested in her to keep the King happy and now he wants to get to know her better and after finding out she is not only his matched mate but his fated mate which only makes him want her more. How does it all turn out when these two never believed in love or imagined it could happen to them but is it all real or not. Brilliant book.

"Courting is a verb, my dear boy. It is an active thing,"...
Varma believes he is unmatchable, but he doesn't want to disappoint his King and Queen, so he'll be nice, play along... And discover that sometimes match makers get it right.
Laura is tired of not being respected. She is an artist in an age where beings think art is a dime a dozen, because they don't see, or appreciate the difference between digital and the real deal. When she gets a chance at a commission that will show what she's capable of, she jumps at it... and agrees she might as well go on a few dates while there, no point being lonely after all.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited book has characters who love their work, but need others to remind them to enjoy the rest of life a bit more, and help them see in themselves the great qualities others see and appreciate.
Varma (H), a Dragonian weapons master, agrees to a matchmaker’s services to help him find a mate, even though he considers himself unmateable. Laura (h)agrees to come to Dragonia to put her artistic talents to work for a royal commission and to use the matchmaker's services to have a good time while she's there. Neither expected to find love but the more time they spend together, they realize they may have just been matched perfectly. Film crew side story gave a little bit of drama, but not too much to distract from Varma and Laura's romance. Lots of action plus some hot, steamy sexiness - wings and horns! Kaze, Scarlett, and Sagazia are back. Looking forward to Lotor.
Ria is looking for something. She has journeyed far and wide. In her wanderings she comes across Thorec. Her life is about to change but she does want it to. When an Omega runs from an Alpha he will give chase every time. I loved both characters. Thorec ‘s character feels as big as he is. Whereas Ria is small, strong and feisty. They fit together. I would recommend this book. The Intergalactic Matchmaking Agency works! This is a sweet alien romance book. I recommend it for those that are romantic at heart.
Intergalactic matchmaking is just so interesting! I loved the idea of an actual “matchmaker” somehow bringing couples together. Varma and Laura really seem like very different people, yet it is just that which draws them together initially. The few suspenseful twists and turns and steamy interludes filled out a satisfying story. With revelations at the end, I hope we see more of this couple somewhere in future series novels.

Laura is an artist and is offered an opportunity she cannot pass up. The Intergalactic Matchmaker asked her to paint the royal family of Dragonia. She was also encouraged to date while there on her assignment. She was not looking for love.
Varma, Weapons Master of Dragonia, was a powerful warrior. He was not expecting love, but a meeting with Laura was set up. Will the two of them be pulled together in a strong attraction to each other? Could they be fated mates and ready to find their HEA?
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Very cute story I liked the character and the plot . varma had everything going for him being a draconian ,weapons master for the king kaze but then he needs a mate .the king sets him up with sagzia of the intergalactic matchmaking agency to find his perfect match and this is the story of varma and Laura .
Varma a Dragonian weapons master is definitely not one to match for some unknown reason. Hmmmm this matchmaking agency seems like a good fit for him. So one thing leads to another and poof! The time spent with the artist that is his match seems to be perfect! Of course there’s drama. And cameos from the previous matchmaking book one. Good fun.

Varma is the weapons keeper of Dragonia and Laura is a human matched to him by Sagasia. I like the way that neither Laura nor Varma really believe in love. The story progresses and keeps the reader in the know of how love can change a person. I liked this story a lot.
I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. Laura and Varma had such great chemistry. Neither had been looking for love, but it seemed the matchmaker made the perfect match. The story did also have action, danger, and drama. A fun read. (And I really enjoyed that Laura was an artist, and painting a portrait was the catalyst!) 5 stars.
This book got me excited. It is the weapons master turn to be matched and he is funny and adorable. I'll give him a full star for his effort in his courtship.
This story tells of our weapons master and the artist's road to their happiness, with bumps along the way.
Had a blast reading this.

The book started out well. But I thought they were talking more to the Matchmaker about their relationship than they were to each other. It annoyed me.
It also bothered me that hero was using a prosthetic horn holographic projection because he was insecure about his appearance (he lost a horn in battle).
The two main characters couldn’t be more different, except neither want to be mated. Don’t get me wrong, the attraction is definitely there, but mated? I love that the author throws in bits of humour to lighten the situation which eventually becomes downright dangerous.

The author has taken us to another time and place to pull us into the lives of Laura and Varma. The story keeps us turning the pages with denial, danger and steam.

I love a matchmaker story! Laura and Varma seemed like such opposites and neither was looking for love, but can Sagazia's match be what they never expected?.

Flame kept by Athena Storm. Intergalactic Matchmaking Agency Book 2. He bought my services. And then he took my soul. This alien isn’t just deadly. He’s dead smexy. A really good read. I loved the cover. 5*.
This is a story about opposites attract. The hero is responsible to the extreme. The heroine takes irresponsibility for granted. They still fight the attraction and danger ensues. Well worth reading.
