The Women of the Bible Speak Workbook: The Wisdom of 16 Women and Their Lessons for Today

Rate this book
GOD CAN MEET YOUR NEEDS AS HE DID FOR WOMEN OF THE BIBLE

Women are central to some of the most critical events, powerful encounters, and transformative moments in the Bible. They change the course of history. These extraordinary women rose above because God was their refuge, and now you can join them.

Based on the #1 New York Times bestseller, The Women of the Bible Speak, this workbook connects the stories of old to each of our modern experiences. In these 16 lessons, you'll be challenged to consider the parallels between each woman's story and your own. You'll reflect on how God worked in their lives and uncover how He's working in yours, today.

Each lesson in the workbook will take you through these

REFLECT invites you to read key moments of each woman's life in the Bible and connect with her story.

CONNECT asks you to consider how God in the Old Testament or Jesus in the New Testament responds to each woman and what this discloses about His character and how He responds to you.

REVEAL provides an opportunity to identify specific character traits, responses to God, and acts of faith, as well as your similar traits, responses, and acts of faith.
PRAY asks you to prayerfully consider how the woman's story ties into the work God is doing in your life right now.
BONUS PAIRS where you'll be asked to consider the women in pairs, finding the commonalities in their callings and challenges. Some of the women knew one another. Others were connected simply by a thread of common purpose, one that becomes clearer by studying the women side by side.

As women often feel unworthy, God lifted them up and uses them for his ministry. This book shows sixteen women who impacted his ministry. Women in today's society as back then would say they are not worthy. But then who is worthy male or female.

It was a helpful workbook but is definitely a companion book. It doesn't guide you well if you have little reference for the stories of women in the Bible. The companion book is a good read. The questions are generally useful and good to consider. I didn't find the pairing two women for comparison very helpful. And at times the pairings didn't make sense. That part wasn't valu added. But it's a nice way to study the women of the bible. I wish it had been a bit more lesson structured but it would orks, of you have the original book for reference.

So good!!! Loved how thought provoking most questions were and allowed me to think about how to change my daily life to reflect the women of the Bible

The reason for my 3⭐️ rating is because I felt some of the questions were based on assumption rather than what we actually know about the stories. There were some typos as well based on which verse certain things were found throughout and overall I enjoyed the book more than the workbook.

Our small group did this study together. I didn’t read the accompanying book, i only did this workbook. It does stand alone quite nicely but if you wanted to go deeper you could include the other book . It was a nice study and we had lots of great discussion. Lots of a scripture included. There are questions about the passage as well as personal reflection questions.

There were things that were Scripturally wrong in it, and I don't mean interpretation issues, theological points. I mean there were direct Scripture references that are incorrect. If you can't get a better copyeditor, it's a no from me.

The workbook was very repetitive. It wasn’t thought provoking or reflecting on what was read during the week.

This workbook was very thorough and detailed! So much so, some of it felt repetitive in certain parts of each section/woman. A lot of repeated themes, but definitely covered all the bases.

I absolutely LOVE this workbook. Not only am I getting to read these women’s stories and learn how God worked in their lives, but I am able to relate to them and make personal connections that I never would have done on my own. Each entry begins with an introduction to the woman being studied, with the page numbers to the entries in the corresponding companion book. I did not purchase the main book, but plan to do so in the near future since I am learning so much from the workbook. Having the main book will be the icing on the cake, so to speak, providing me with even more insight and learning. But regardless, I was still able to work through this workbook without it. Each entry has a few pages of questions, some that direct you to the Bible to obtain answers while others help you to relate to the women. My favorite part is the end of each entry – the section that helps you make personal connections. I also enjoy the prayer questions, as well. I have learned so much from this workbook. I truly hope author Shannon Bream offers follow up books that explore the lives of more women in the Bible because I am ready to continue learning and growing!

This was an interesting Bible study. You do not have to have the book to do this study. The book had it's own questions. The questions in the workbook are on the scriptures in the Bible. It was an interesting look at some of the women of the Bible and their stories.

I read this in conjunction with a ladies Bible Study. It was very good and depicted women of the Bible in a different way. It helped me to understand better their life and trials faced.
