Time Travel is open to the public. For a resource-depleted world, the breaking news offers a glimmer of hope as humanity disperses throughout the eras. For siblings Mia and Derek Hayes, the news presents a welcome diversion from the mundane trajectory of their lives. Alternate Take weaves through Mia's journey in the 1997 college music scene, Derek's evocative experience in 1967 London, and the Time Regulatory Network's unconventional orchestration of Time Travel's entire construct.
Alternate take is an engaging historic fiction with an extraordinary twist. With a strong fusion of marvelous writing style and well paced narration, you'll be getting the best of both worlds.
As the harsh reality of environmental problems and degradation has finally began to burst in its finality, the only solution came in as a surprise and shock to the people.
Time travel was officially opened to the public. The story takes off as Derek and Mia's parents Jon and Ellie were worried about losing their children to another era. Adrian Glass was one of TRN’s lead executives. He would have a tremendous role in all of these. As the scheduling portal opens up, Derek and Mia were ready to book the consultations.
Mia's journey takes place in 1997 music scene and Derek's has a poignant yet profound experience in 1967 London. Their lives were about to change forever. Are they ready for that?
The plot is fascinating and the characters were intriguing. I read the entire story in just a single sitting and I cannot wait to read the sequel which I am hoping the author publishs it soon. The events in this book are well-written and it has adventure, emotions and other elements of surprises that would flabbergast any curious readers. It's fascinating to see the incorporation of real life environmental problems being in conjunction with a strongly feasible futuristic exploration. I couldn't delve in to the plot here because that would have invited spoilers. Just know that this is not an ordinary historical fiction, it has got much more than.
This goes without saying that readers who are an avid explorer of historic fiction will find this book quite unique and memorable.
Part futuristic part historical fiction, Alternate Take was a thought provoking, interesting, entertaining read. Hints at historical figures had me guessing at who they might be, beautiful descriptions of historical styles had me perusing the internet for style inspiration, and reminders of life before handheld technology prompted me to live in the moment. There were a few times changes in the narrative perspective were a bit confusing, but overall This first book by author Hallie Baur was excellent and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
I really enjoyed this fun time traveler book especially to the 90's college music seen. The time in 1967 hip London, England was a joy and felt authenticate. The themes of worldly crisis, source code, and nostalgia are all present throughout this enjoyable novel.
