I like Lonely Planet's books in general, as I find them useful for my trips.
It can be because I have liked a lot the previous ones I have used (India, Mekong, East Africa), but I found this one a little bit dull and bleak. It can also be, of course, because it is an old edition (2007).

I hope the more recent ones are more friendly and colorful, and that someone is enjoying the one I left in the "free stuff" box at a campsite in Reykjavík.

Back when we started going on these trips with all the Christensen's I tried out a different brand guidebook each time, looking for the ideal one. Lonely planet to my mind just doesn't fit what I'm looking for. It caters to how to do the backpacking, hostel staying, where to drink and grab a sandwich on the run type traveler. Not me. Very thorough, small maps. This is the only Lonely Planet book I bought.

I got this book before me and my friends went on a road trip to Scandinavia. I can say that along with the GPS system this book was a great help to decide what to see and where to go.
