A Man on a mission. A Woman who walks alone. Two paths. One destiny. John (Snake) Smith, the newest member of Sentinel Security, works hard to prove he belongs with the team, determined to avenge his predecessor's death. With their enemy in reach, now is not the best time to meet the sexy, obstinate woman who claims more than his attention. Samantha Leigh lived her nightmare. Two tours in Afghanistan and she's done. Alone and content running her K9 kennels in the Yorkshire Dales, she doesn't need a man in her life. Snake and Sam didn't expect to find each other, but when Sam's personal demons re-surface and a child goes missing, Snake must decide who comes first, Sentinel or the woman who might be his soul mate. Justice contains sex scenes between mutually consenting adults. Open the door and off with the clothes. Both Sam and Snake use robust language. They swear sometimes.
Stories have stood by me when times were tough and lovers came and went. Surrounded by my garden, I write about courageous men and women who fight for the rich lives and love we all deserve.
Loved Snake and Sam's story. It had me reading into the late hours of the night to see what was going to happen. A great mix of action and emotion that I found totally engaging. I really enjoy Eliza's writing style: it's descriptive without being flowery, and is very real in terms of what drives people to think and behave the way they do. Look forward to reading Eliza's next book!
Snake is a memorable and likeable 'protector' hero in this action-packed story, always showing total respect for the wishes of the rather prickly heroine, Sam. Both characters are well drawn, as are the painful issues driving their various behaviours. The roles and habits of the working dogs George and Bounce are also portrayed very convincingly, as are the attitudes of Tom, a confused 13-yr-old teenager. As well as 'nailing' characterisation, this author excels at the sensory aspect of writing and her latest novel is full of colorful imagery. Here's how she described the heroine's headache - 'Ignoring the pixies slinging sledgehammers at her head, she tried to sit, ....' There's plenty more where that came from. Well done, Eliza Renton.
Justice: Sentinel Security Book 3 in the series by Eliza Renton
I love this series because of the men who run Sentinel Security and how they find their HEA. With this book you have both Samantha Leigh and her kennel of K-9 dogs and giving them a second chance to find their new forever home while still doing what they love.
The romance between John "Snake" Smith is a slow burn while he tries to find out who is causing all the accidents at Sam's kennels. I love the series and how Ms. Renton writes a story that will keep you up wanting to find out how it all ends.
I must admit this is the first book I read in the London series of Sentinel Securities and it was good that I have to go get the other books in this series to see if I missed something. These books seem to be stand alone so I don't think I missed anything but good writing! I love Alpha Protectors, slow burn romance and of course action! Get this book and this series!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If the character of Sam was meant to keep us frustrated, than that was achieved. Snake & his K9's bond was definitely beautiful. There were lots of laughter & sweetness from the team. Alot of emotional baggage to overcome. An enjoyable read.
I enjoyed Snake’s and Sam’s story. It’s very emotional as they both have baggage! It’s a well developed, slow burn romance that kept me wondering what would happen next. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*
