In short beforehand: There are so many books on the market also in english regarding that topic, but you will see relations, examples, facts which are written down in that perfect way no where else. Ready for getting a pharmaceutical botanist and phytopharmacist that sees not the part but the whole in relation, read this book, look in it every day. You will see!

Excellent book for everyone (self-)studying the pharmaceutical aspects of biological species. It can be used as a encyclopedia but is also really suitable for reading from beginn to end. There is a design that allows you to see the most important facts, but it catches you to read more into it because of its layout. Focus is on plants, but also bacteria and vaccines are being mentioned since biotechnology is growing.

The chapters are classified in a chemicotaxonomical order with phytochemical classes being one chapter, e.g. alkaloids are then also classified using biosynthetical classes.

That means you have a book here which is of course pharmaceutical biology but in fact there is a pharmacognostic, phytochemical focus that is full of graphics, relations and all important species are explained in a perfect way.
