The 19th Century was a bitterly cruel time in American history. President Abraham Lincoln waged an ongoing war across the seceding South that would inevitably kill a higher percentage of Americans than any war to date. Thereafter, the proud people of this fallen Confederacy would be diminished, written off as traitors, and oppressed beneath the heel of the occupying military as Dixie's cities lied in ruins. The self-avowed infidel, spiritualist, Marxist Abraham Lincoln would thereafter be deified as some manner of quasi-divine political god. Outlaws would rise up to rob Federal Banks, as the United States Government still pursued its unyielding plans to purge the Indigenous people of North America from the face of the Earth. All of this was but a portion of the Hell that would be turned loose upon the Earth during the 1800s. Within the pages of this book, you'll journey far and wide into the vast expanse that is the sub-genre known as Western Horror. Be advised, that this book contains extremely violent material.
B. L. Blankenship was born in Toledo, Ohio by two southern parents whose families had moved north to escape the coal mines and such of their homes. Between the again of 12-14 he & his family moved to Rockwood, Tennessee. For the first time in his life he felt like he was home. Under this pen-name (which is an abbreviation of his name; i.e. Benjamin Lee Blankenship) he exclusively writes Western Horror; Western being defined by a time and tone rather than a fenced in geographical location.
His books and stories intentionally tend to incorporate an abundance of Confederate, Copperhead, or Doughface protagonists. They often have dark twists and turns. While all of his literature is purely works of fiction (and to be regarded as such), they accurately follow the historical narrative of that was documented at that time that Abraham Lincoln invaded the seceding South killing a higher percentage of his own people than have ever been slain in any war, was a personal friend of Carl Marx who wrote back and forth to him approving of the War, that he shutdown Northern newspapers, arrested Northerners without due cause (suspending habeas corpus) & performed water torture on Northerners (which was revealed after a citizen of England was mistakenly tortured by the federal government), committed and justified far too many war crimes to list in this bio, was a Spiritualist (not a Christian) who waged a war exclusively for the preservation of the Union (i.e. for the causes of money & power), etc.
B. L. Blankenship is a notable historian, theologian, and demonologist who extensively sprinkles real places, real people, and real events into his books thereby tethering them more to reality and subsequently making them feel more real. All of his works are extremely violent & disparaging in perpetually every way.. Be advised, they're exceedingly explicit and thereby not for everyone. Their overall tone is cruel. According to him ALL WESTERN HORROR is defined by three principles:
#1) God is judge #2) The Devil is real #3) People are cruel
He's becoming embraced by the Extreme Horror, SplatterPunk, & Gore communities and loves to subvert expectations. B. L. Blankenship also has the propensity to utilize strong Black, Female, Native American, Asian, or other marginalized characters as well.
